it’s all about the taxis, billboards, sidewalks, cinemas, zebra lines, lights, sounds, people, skyscrapers and shopping malls.

Wordpress for iPhone

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Introducing the first Open Source app that lets you write posts, upload photos, and edit your WordPress blog from your iPhone or iPod Touch. With support for both WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress (2.5.1 or higher), users of all experience levels can get going in seconds. Download it now!

You can now blog anywhere!

However, this application would only work on the latest iPhone 2.0 version. I quite have a number of times finding it difficult to use various apps for a longer time after upgrading. The most common one is where the application you are working in just suddenly ceases its operation, the screen momentarily turns black, then the iPhone home screen appears.

This is what happens when I upgraded my WordPress 2.6 blog - sometimes it is so damn frustrating. And eventhough I’m already excited to have it downloaded on my iPhone, I am somewhat skeptical about this new application. What if it crashes my iPhone? What if it didn’t work again?

According to the FAQ, the following known issues still exist:

    Accented characters not encoded properly
Blogs with Twitter Tools plugin installed sending Twitter links to posts that don’t exist
Display problems with toolbar for some iPod touch users
Unable to add a blog using a custom uploads location
Intermittent errors when adding blogs for some users
Some theme previews not available for public blogs

But the good news is, two bugs are now being fixed.

Do you think you would ever even blog from a mobile device? What do you think, iPhoners?

A correct word for it - a huge “time waster”. But I do browse in my iPhone to read blogs it’s like you’re using a laptop in your palm. Besides it’s an Apple, so it is cool, hehehe.

The only thing that would stop you from blogging via your phone is that, you will be forced using your middle finger to enter each letter. Eh kung mahaba kang magsulat, aabutan ka ng madaling araw bago matapos ang entry mo.

Oh don’t be, ako din madalang na mag blog hopping kasi nga sa upgrade ako nakatutok. Thanks Thessa.

    Off the subject …

You are using this theme too? Don’t you just love it?
One quick question … How do I put up the “Popular Posts” or “Recent Comments”?

Yup. They are silly questions …

Hi Andie, I tried this theme before, l challenged myself to learn how to use codes into the template. Since this is not a widgetized version, I didn’t really think twas difficult. I tricked myself to re-upload, delete here, add there but I finally made it worked. It was easy really. All you need to do is to use a plugin for your Recent Comments or Popular posts. Download the plugin into your plugin directory using your ftp login. After that, copy the plugin code (it is something like < ? php....? > ) into your sidebar to make it work (for this theme, you will edit both “third.php” or “second.php” sidebars). Every plugin has instructions included, so try to read the simple step. I am using a simple plugin, you can download “Recent comment” plugin here and here for your “Top Post”.

I was actually browsing Grid Focus theme sharing site and found your links there. And I got interested reading your food blog as you write about Philippines delicacy, our people and your travel to the other parts of our country. I couldn’t believe you travelled in Bicol province and even Catanduanes.

      Thanks for the visit.

i wish my iphone ako, haha! however, the new one is not getting raves here in the US, mostly because ang bagal ng 3g ng provider.

anyway, ako mas feel ko to blog when i’m in front of the pc, with a mug of coffee beside me tapos naka-pajamas. :D ok siguro to use the iphone to browse and bloghop, pero old school kasi ako. besides, ok siguro yan for probloggers na yung balita nila can’t wait. pero para sa ating mga “hobbyists” i don’t see the urgency hehe.

Compared to HK, everybody are into iPhone now - imagine that. This city was iPhonenizied. Nahihilo na sila which mobile phone to buy, even the HTC phone went 20% off. If it’s a new fad hindi papalampasin yan ng mga HKngers.

I thought, with the 2 yrs installment, sobrang MAHAL. I bought mine months when they pre-launched the 8GB iPhone and I’m still using the 1.4 version. With the new 3G, it’s not tempting for an upgrade, dibale, iPhone pa rin naman. Apple is now the new thing in HK which is maganda naman talaga ang products.

For blogging, I’d prefer the laptops. Maganda talaga yung Safari browser for iPhone, ang gagandang tingnan ang mga blogs natin.
