Nothing can beat the real lomo

I‘ve been trying to learn how to Photoshop a digital shot into a lomo effect but it’s not easy. Instead I’ve come up with this vintage colorized shot. I think nothing can beat the real lomo camera itself.

It’s a good thing to experiment something out of your digital shots and discover a vintage looking pictures.

Pictures was taken from my recent ’sight-seeing’ trip at the Hong Kong Park. The best part of the park is to experience a breathtaking view riding on a Cable car. There’s a new added attraction at the ‘Low Land’ area, the SkyFair floating ballon. Although I didn’t enjoy that much around this area because of the big construction going on, I finally saw the Giant Panda habitat up close and personal.

What do you think?

good job doing the vintage effect. i’m considering getting myself a lomo cam since it’s just around 2k pesos. kaso iniisip ko yung hassle sa pagbili ng film at pagpapa process. grrr.

Ron, try try lang, photoshop is complicated.

I agree tho on the lomography, masyadong hassle nga yung you buy films and printing, tapos scan mo pa sya to your PC. The price here is almost the same but I don’t think it’s a good “toy” for me, eh tamad kaya ako to read instructions.

ang tagal tagal ko na naghahanap ng pangalan ng effect na yan, dito ko lang pala makikita sa blog mo Kuya K. I was looking the net for an effect of the 70s to 80’s look of photos. di ko mahanap kasi di ko alam ang name ng effect. lomo lang pala ang tawag dun.

nice one. it really looks like it was taken from the past. nabano naman ako haha.

I like the lomo effect, I’ll test it out and see. Your vintage also looks nice, looks like you’re from the 70s. :)

Ya mean the LOMO? No, it’s not what it’s called. A lomo is a gadget for casual snapshot photography characterized by its over saturated colors. At first I thought it was boring, lifeless photography pero maganda pala.

I believe the lomo-effect is called a ‘Vignette’ to make the image looks old.

I want to make sure I don’t overdo it. or else I’d stuck with this “effect”. I think it’s cool to make vintage effect of places and faces. I done it with trial and error, depending on my liking, but it turned out great.

Although I think there’s an apparent coolness of lomo shots, I too don’t want to invest in this camera right away especially the part when you want to make it develop and upload. Didn’t scanner just disappeared?

Let’s stick na lang with our digi and do the viginetting effect.

galing, nagawa mo pa ring vintage yung shots. pero galing dun nung kay dimaks. :) pag na-master mo lang yang pag-edit na yan walang lomo-lomo! haha. pero totoo, nothing beats the lomo cam. 2k nalang pala eh. before it’s P5k or something, at sa HK lang yata meron, wala dito.
