Rss feed issue

I made a fresh install on the latest WP 2.5.1v, everything works fine except that I had issue with the feeds – turned out totally empty. If you want to subscribe to this blog, kindly update the new feed url below.

Feedburner: feed://feeds.feedburner.com/k2

Rss feed: feed://www.knoizki.net/rss

I have checked some of your feeds and I’ve found a number of blogs that are using Full text feed. If you are using Wordpress, I suggest that you might want to change your feed from “Full text” to “Summary” for each article you want to show on your blog. Check on the (Dashboard – Settings – Reading) panel.

The benefit of the RSS format is that content is automatically delivered to subscribers as it is published. There’s no need to visit the site to see what’s new. The feed reader will automatically gather all new content for reading at the subscriber’s leisure.

However, since RSS Subscribers get to read the full blog content inside their newsreaders, they would never visit the actual blog site – so there will be a lesser pageviews in your blog.

Either way, it is really up to you whether you want to publish a full tex or summary feed in your feed reader. The good news though is that, it’s pretty well established that full text feeds attract more subscribers than summary feeds, so if getting more subscribers is a blogger’s goal, full text is definitely the way to go.

Like I said, feed reader is one of the best way to track your favourite blogs, and well why not include mine as well?. So let’s subscribe.

Thanks.

    Hey K.

I think that all blogs should have a full text feed. I get really annoyed when I have to go back to the blog to read a full post.

It’s a hassle when you read hundreds of blogs. I’ve worked on my own blog to include full text.

But that’s just my own point of view.

I agree. When I have a lot of blogs on my feed, I usually read the ones that have full text, I just click those blogs that I want to comment on. Either way, I guess it’s up to you to determine what works best for your blog. :)

ako din i don’t mind about the pageviews on my actual blog. kapag naman gusto nila yung sinulat ko, they will still visit my blog to leave a comment. :) i just set my blog to full view para makatulong na rin sa mga nagde-depend sa rss aggregators. :)
