BagetsWho can remember this porma back in the eightees?

BAGETS!

Arguably, it is the best Filipino teen movie in history. Even with the dated outfits and half of the cast has faded themselves into oblivion, the issues explored in the movie remain to be a classic and it provided a plot and storyline to be imitated and copied by scriptwriters and directors for years.

From falling in love with older people, to finding the courage to say you like a girl, to peer pressure to family issues, Bagets tells it lightly and comically albeit naturally and frankly.

The movie focuses on the lives of five young boys - boy next door Adie, “overstaying” Tonton, the geeky Gilbert, the martial arts buff Toffee, and rich guy Arnel - as they try to pass senior year in a different high school (they were kicked out from their previous school). Along the way, they encounter some of the typical adventures and misadventures common to adolescents - young love, family problems, and sexual hijinks.

Herbert Bautista, Aga Mulach, Raymond Lauchengco, Richard Bonin and Ramon Christopher? They even had their Bagets reunion back in 2005.

YOU’VE GOT THE POWER!!! Hahaha. It was a classic filipino comedy not to be taken seriously! Ninja’s in white costume diba? Kalaban nila mga Igorot ata sa isang fighting scene. Sobra yung sound effects nakakamatay ang sipa ni Herbert.
