I chicken out

January 20, 08

KFC

Finger Lickin’ Good. Original. Starting to kill me with their super-tiny size of chicken legs. Salty and a little expensive. I’d wish they serve their Coca-cola in a glass not plastic acrylic. I had to use a straw to sip (because it doesn’t look sterilized) and it floats away.

McCrispy

Mc Crispy Chicken, which is basically a chicken fillet burger with some mayonnaise and some lettuce on top. Just ok for the tastebuds. The McDonald’s branches in Hong Kong have many different things that normal McDonald’s won’t have. Like every McDonald’s in the world, McDonald’s here has convenient locations and very good prices. And talking about “promotions”, there are lots.

Steam Chicken

Steam Chicken with Soy Sauce. It’s very popular here. I actually quite like it. Tasty but voila, “I can still see blood”?. Yikes!

Jollibee Chicken Joy

Jollibee Chicken Joy. Crunchy skin and nothing beats the gravy. It’s not so bad, just too dry for me.

Chicken Teriyaki
Chicken Teriyaki with rice, originally uploaded by: chinagrrl
Yoshinoya’s Chicken Teriyaki + rice. Tender, golden-brown slices. Not so good, not so bad. At least they have a rice.

Chicken Adobo, originally uploaded by: paul goyette
Chicken Adobo. Pinoy’s proud. You think so? I kinda miss this food. Bests to cook it at home (by someone).

Well the Jollibee’s Chicken Joy was good especially when you haven’t ate in a long time, but now as much as I say this a lot, I’m getting tired of chicken. Does anyone have a couple of recipe to try at least?

Meeya, Hahaha give me some chicken feet and a chrysanthemum tea later. Well there’s this restaurant that cooks “chicken tips” (wings) in garlic with too sprinkled red pepper. Sobrang sarap! -

Cheh, anong sauce mo? I prefer my chicken as “fried” in margarine pero mas masarap yung deep fry sa “peanut oil”. May Jollibee dyan? -
2008-01-21 16:55:03

K

Kenny Rogers may chicken na rin? I thought spare ribs lang andun? Alam mo mas masarap ang “nakaw-na-manok-na-kinatay” at pinaupo sa asin or nilagang manok na may dahon ng sili, tinola sa sarap, ever! Ma papa-ohhh at papa-ahhhh ka talaga.

Did you try na ba Ginataang Manok? EVER sa sarap din (don’t forget to put a little sili, mas takam). And it’s tastier kapag overnight at ini-nit mo ulet. Kamayin mo na din!

Diane, KARE-KARE? you know how to cook that? I remember we cooked this food for our patients back in College on our food-training class. Bagoong dapat meron ha?

My voice sounded good? YEHEY, salamat….. oh you mean the music? Low maintenance ang recording ko, I use http://singsnap.com to record my singing. Try mo, you can be famous there too.
2008-01-21 04:44:59

But i still havent mixed it well. How did u guess it right?? hehe..I’ll post it here when i’m done with it. That’s weird cuz i recorded 2 songs and you got the exact song right!

i have tried that steamed chicken before, and you are right, they don’t cook it all the way as you can still see some blood next to the bones. but, they are much much healthier than the fried ones. the meat is so juicy and tender.

Belle, the steam chicken (cantonese) is delicious. There’s a special sauce for that, not soysauce, the best way is too make this sauce, you do nothing more than mince ginger and combine it with chopped scallions (green onions), olive oil, and plenty of salt or combine them together into a blender. You can even keep this sauce for days. This is a powerful sauce, one that will markedly change the character of anything to which you add it. Silam!

You might grow feathers there, K, for having too much chicken, lol! What about chicken barbecue or chicken ala-king? Or chicken soup?

Have a great week! :)

Sha, I’d like you to give me the risotto or paella recipe. I wanna try to cook that sometimes (ahem) but I think I’d prefer reading the menu, mas madali diba? Yes, a friend from Mac shop here said to me a while ago that I should wait for a little while before getting the Mac Air, he suggested that I’d compare prices between MacBook Pro or the iMac muna. cool post. Now I’m hungry! We actually had Chicken Joy today. Thank goodness for Jollibee here! Hehe.

Btw, I have too agree with you. When I cook adobo, it has to be Silver Swan!

K
2008-01-22 04:08:27

Rho,, a bit curious, merong Jollibee home delivery ba? I am actually thinking of Pizza right now. Diba Silver Swan ang pampalasa talaga? It’s like if you’re serving J a chicken soup, put knorr cubes para lasang Pinoy.
rho
2008-01-22 09:36:44

hindi ko alam kung merong home delivery dito, but I just go there. No doubt, it would be nice if they did. And yes, I put knorr cubes in my tinola! hehehe! there’s nothing like lasang Pinoy, di ba?
