Eight things you probably didn’t know about me

My first meme for this year. I don’t understand why I have always been the primary target of this plague but I am not complaining because I enjoy answering (the bad part is, I dislike passing this kind of tag to anyone) any kind - and t’s probably pretty appropriate to start my 2008 responding to Eight things that you did not know about me.

1. I love designs and architecture. On my spare time, I’d browse around bookstore, standing there with a cuppa for hours flipping pages of houses, kitchens & interior designs. Nice buildings and designs is causing me to feel more at peace. I believe that Architecture reflects so much about how we feel toward the space we inhabit.
2. I’m chicken shit. I could never be able to ride a rollercoaster. No matter how much you pay me.
3. I assumed am diabetic. Chances are that I’ve inherited it from my Father but I love chocolates. As what people say, to keep being healthy, a good start is to skip potatoes, bread, and desserts or a bowl of rice or whatever as it could send the glucose up sharply. But I don’t think it’s the absolute overall solution so why is that I always crave for more ice cream and cans of coca-cola after a meal? I should start a year with at a balanced diet, and the proportions I’m eating that are recommended: Carbs 55% of calories, fats 25%, protein 20%, and get 30-35g of fiber daily. I’m dying - dying to eat more dimsums.
4. I don’t know how to drive. Ok, I don’t drive. I’ve always think that driving is very close to death. I hate being controlled by machines. I don’t have and never want to have a driver’s license. When I was in High School, I couldn’t wait until I turn 18 to get my driver’s license and start driving (anyway in Bicol during that time, no one needs a license as long as you have a car). But somehow it never happened. In Hong Kong, I’d either like to walk from Central to Causeway Bay (talking about 1 hour) because there’s no way to drive a car when public transport is everywhere. It is so convenient that wherever you look, there’s the McDonalds, 7-11, trains, toilets & malls.
5. I got this thick face singing in public (or in many cases, online) no matter how bad my voice is, it’s the easiest way to release my emotions. Our feelings remain within us until we release them. Remember, more practice (and I’m trying) makes it perfect.
6. I am snob, I strongly agree. At least 56% of it is likely to balance my other part as being cool. This does not, of course, mean that my life consists of only brown-nosing. But yes, I like going out of my way not to piss off someone. And for that matter, I like going out of my way not to piss on someone, either.
7. I have what is commonly known as ‘temper’.
8. I am frigid as cold as stone. No matter how I grieve for someone, I never really cry at the funerals. I was caught smiling at the camera when my grandfather died. I was 6 that time. I only cried when my father died eight years ago and when my Mother was sent in the hospital for her major operation.
Bluer Than Blue

Me, singing (and trying)
Living here in Mega Manila, I wouldn’t want to learn to drive, this might even contribute to my stress level which is sometimes high. But to relieve the stress, I cry naman, even touchy tv commercials cause me to cry. Waaah!
Ok, gotta go coz you might sing already, lol!
“… even touchy tv commercials cause me to cry.” Hahaha Julie, really? Which one? I do watch Pinoy channels here, but I can remember the ones Ate Shawee’s McDo commercial with Frankie’s. Thanks again for the visit.
Interesting K! I know that you love #1 because most of your blogs is about interior designs. I am probably #3 also. #5, singing is therapy and it’s true that “feelings remain until you release them”. i like that you are #5 and you post your songs online too. I just have one comment about #8, it’s okay to cry, K. I learned in my psych class that it’s ok to let those emotions out (like in singing) because you dont want to keep those emotions inside of you. anyway, again i love that “bluer than blue” song. (btw, if you go to my page i have some recorded songs as well. i read before that u recorded “don’t know what to do”, maybe u can take a listen to my rendition, hehe…tell me what u think).
PS: Your mini-ipod is so cute on the right!
You have all these cute gadgets..=)

Diane, your version of “Don’t Know What To Do” is way way better than mine, hahaha. I like your recordings, how did you actually made that CD-quality sound? I AM JEALOUS. Will you teach me how, please?
ahhh! I don’t know how to drive as well. I am just plain lazy to learn. We’ll be leaving for Pinas tom. Excited na ako

DUKE, oh my goodness, how exciting. Well take care over there and enjoy the family ghetto with your little A. Oist, don’t forget Baby Powder. Wag ka ng bumili ng pasalubong sa akin, ok lang. Take more photos and bring more sunblock, hahaha. Alam na ba ni Grace na uuwi kayo? Tell us your Airport experience again, ok?
#1 - yeah, you even love changing your blog designs every now and then
#4 - me too. i think i don’t have a good sense of direction…hahah
#6 - may binabagayan naman ang pagiging SNOB and it suits you well. LOL
On #5, i enjoy your singing. you sing well talaga. really. Sounds professional nga eh. BWAHAHAHA nambola pa…God bless you in your singing career K!
Ok, I believe you with the #5. I sounded like a crying chihuahua, hahaha. Ikaw talaga Malen.
been driving here in cali for years, but when i tried driving in manila. i had to stop and turned the driver seat to my cousin. i had the most horrible time. hahahah! hey k, goodluck to your singing career

So they say, if you live in the States, a car is definitely a necessity or else then how would you be able to go to work without the inconvenience? Well the backseat is the safest space in a car I think. In Manila, I ride the jeepneys (except during the evenings) and it’s what I miss back there not-to-mention the terrible traffics.
you’re not chicken shit kasi you sing in public eh! I think that takes more courage than riding roller coasters he he…you don’t like rides lang..which i am the same…done it when I was younger but now even if you pay me million bucks i will not (or maybe i might..ang gulo ano? he he)
hay naku keep singing lang! nakabili ka na nga mic?
Thess, hahaha, tawag dun “makapal mocca” and that’s ok, I sing for my own entertainment, well if it’s perfect then I’d release my own CD instead diba? I know you sing very well (ikaw pa, pro singer). I can’t find the mic around here, maybe I am not searching carefully, baka online purchase lang yun (mmm mahal ata). Salamat sa “push” on singing, TODO na to.
You have a fantastic voice K! no ek ek bola yan ha! well, who knows a rep from recording co. might discover this talent one day!!;)
I hate rollercoaster,too!
You were caught smiling on the funeral hahaha OMG K,pareho tayo!!kahiya lol
snob ka jan :p

The one in Hong Kong is called, “The Dragon” at the Ocean Park, so meaning mabilis at mahaba ang dragon ilang beses ko ng gustong sumakay, nginig pa rin ako, hehehe and I’d probably pee on my pants if I ride one of them. Lika tabi tayo sa seats.
Happy people tend to smile a lot, so considered that normal even on the funerals.
hi k, the emoticon should have been a winking face
. dont know what happened, as now it’s showing something else

Nell, it looks fine to me, I can see winking smilies in your comments or maybe it doesn’t work well with this commenting plugin. Browser issue perhaps?
thanks K! i sent you an email. let me know if you got it!
Diane,
probably yahoo fooked up the legit emails again. I’ll check again.Oh you sent it via contact form on this blog. Oh my, that’s an expensive hardware for recordings. Wow I didn’t know you were in the band? No wonder you have a great sounding voice. I’m like it’s a very serious investment, I would have to ask my brother as they pretty much into these stuff than me. I think they have this in Tom Lee music shop (huge selection of instruments) where we buy guitars, drum sets, amps and subwoofs for our younger brother in Bicol. Thanks for the links.
So are you gonna get it K? Maybe if you ask your brother he’ll give you a discount, hehe..btw do they own a brach of tom lee? Yes i used to have a band couple of years ago, but i had to quit because of school. I also used to front act dito sa local concerts..nung pumunta dito sina piolo pascual, rica p, carol banawa, etc. But now school’s my priority, pero nakaka-miss lang talaga. Ok, well let me know if you’re getting the hardware. If you’re “musically” serious, then it’s great! =)
OMG, NO KIDDING? Now talking about instant celebrity! I’d be the first fan here Diane. Like what my Father used to say, “don’t neglect your studies”. Kaya pala, we have something “in common” in regards with music, you should record your own CD, think about it.
Thanks K! That’s one of my dreams, hehehe..I’m dreaming that one day i can record my own songs. I write my own songs din kasi. (Bilhin mo na yung recording hardware para duet tayo, hehehe..)
I seem to do the same things with my own emotions as well; I couldn’t cry when I graduated from primary school years ago and I am still more or less the same now as well.

Virigl, maybe it depends on how we are ‘wired’. We’re all ‘wired’ differently. Well they say I am super sensitive, but I think I only cry when something really matters. Maybe one day, you’ll just break down and cry, I don’t know but I hope you’ll NOT cry because someone had hurt you but keep thinking you don’t need tears to validate that you wanna prove or something.
K, unlike you, i easily cry and it is hard to stop it once it gets going. just watching my daughters perform on the stage makes me cry.
On #5, i totally disagree with you. i think that your voice is nice and soothing, and should be nurtured. i would like to see you compose a song anytime soon. you play guitar, don’t you?
Belle recommends you to read.. Stephanie Mae Hits The Airwaves.
Belle, nax talaga? I should have listened to my Dad when I was younger. I usually skip his music lesson during summer school break dahil I was NOT interested in learning music, I love music, though. I wish I was as inclined as my brothers. And no, I don’t play guitar - at least I know how to use a keyboard (computer that is). Hahaha. Oh yeah, compose a song, it should be easier dahil I’m too emotional, don’t you think?
Hello K!
Well, I’m sort of a snob too… hehehe…
Anyway about tag… I’m tagging you this time but this is just an exception. You know that I also don’t like doing it and especially passing it to anyone. But you don’t have to do the tag, only if you feel like doing it. Kindly read my latest blog entry please.
Have a great week K!
Hello K!
Hmmmm… sana hindi napagkamalang spam yong first comment ko.
Hello again K!
Lumabas yong second comment ko. I guess napagkamalan ngang spam yong first comment ko. Bingwitin mo na lang, hanu!
Have a nice week then!
Sofie, sorry for the inconvenience - it happens to a lot of commenters. I have uploaded kasi the bad behavior usually spams that are directed from the browser we are using, don’t know what that means but so far, it has caught a lot of spams in recent days. Pero, never fear, all legit comments (by humans) are lined up for moderation.
I’ll check on your tags and I’m sure will answer them anytime.
Thanks for doing the meme, K.!
