A designer wallets are just much more special

My wallet is old. It’s a monogram Beige Jacquard from Gucci, a gift I bought on my birthday for myself. It comes with an authenticity card in case some friends would ask if its the real leather Made in Italy, at least it got proof.
Whatever.
When it comes to buying wallet, I’d buy the ultimate designer brands. The reason why designer leather wallets are so special is because they usually last for a long, long time, don’t they? And, they come in all colors, materials, shapes and sizes. Now, don’t get me wrong – even the fake ones from the popular ZenShen China malls comes in all shapes and sizes, but lets face the facts that designer wallets are just much more special.
True. My Gucci wallet is almost five years now and as you can see, the ‘butt’ part has already been torn out. Exactly. If your wallet sits on the back of your pocket jeans, when it’s thick, more or less it gets easily damaged as you pressed your butt in it. With good care and maintenance, a good leather wallet can stay with you for your whole life. Say, “I don’t want to use it then”.
When I visited Manila few years ago, I bought a three-folded wallet with rubber strap (inspired by Paul Smith’s design I believe) from Our Tribe shop - can somebody point me to their url site?. A friend who gifted me that dwarfy, pointy, funny-looking leather chocolate sandals from the same brand, and because I love leather sandals, I adore that brand up until now. Our Tribe is another pride of Pinoy. If only they have a shop here in Hong Kong, I’m sure it will sell like a-hot-pandesal na may margarine na palaman.
Anyway.
I have a few plastics (and I’m killing the two comes next year) and only using it when I’m only feeling depressed and excited. I think a credit card is meant for Corporate people, those who travel here and there to at least earn some Mileage points. Whereas using it in the restaurant or other purchases, how much do you get? I don’t even receive a free coupons from using these plastics for ages. But you know, if I can’t resist, I’d usually put a packing tape on the back of it so that I don’t need to spend it for something - oh wait a sec did I just spent it on my Narciso?
I know.
I don’t own enough cash. A HK$100 is only good for an ice cream, a can coke, a cig, or a three-in-one coffee at 7-11. It’s expensive around here. I MUST SAVE, I tell you. On the other hand, I also buy lottery tickets and the ones that I’d kept for a long time now is the number where it won around HK$340.00 last week. Not bad, huh? So it’s a lucky number.
And whatelse? My HK ID card. It’s more important than my passport. Nothing much except that my photo in there just sucks. I am wanting to call for a “lost ID” so that I can at least replace the picture. Intentionally.
Back to my wallet.
All in all, choosing a designer wallet has a lot to do with your personal preferences. Owning a designer wallet and leather one at that is the perfect example of style and class, without being too apparent or loud. Expensive though it is, its still a worthwhile investment.

i totally agree with you, k! most designer stuff (at least the ones i can afford) are expensive, but they do last a long time (past a decade for me, hehehe). i have some lv’s that’s about ten to twelve years old and they’re still good as spanking new. our tribe ba kamo? i’ve been looking them up as well, pero wala yatang website. i love there sandals, the ones made of soft leather. sarap sa paa and talaga namang pangmatagalan. dba

Ate Beng, I know, ikaw si Ms Gucci. I don’t mind naman other brand names as long as may quality - pero not everything branded is good, say LV, masyadong uniformed na diba? Actually for men’s, I’m eyeing on the Dunhill’s. For sure pag kasama mo ako dyan mag shopping sa Germany, I can be your “hand carrier” I won’t mind basta may pang-kape okz na.
I love Gucci pero disappointed ako sa customer service nila. Kaya I have more LV bags now than Gucci. Tama ka, mukhang uniformed nga pero wala akong masabi sa quality…talaga naman kasing napaka durable.
Dunhill is a good choice. Ano ka diyang hand carrier, dapat dalawa tayong shopper

Love the colour ,not the usual plain brown or black men wallet. I totally agree with you about designer wallets,we’re paying for the quality but worth a dime.Naalala ko lang yung designer sapatos,sira na raw yung paa,sapatos buhay pa hahaha

Hahaha, parang nangyari na to sa akin, I want a good shoes from TODS. Nung meron na akong anda (datung) na pambili saka naman walang size sa akin. PANIS!.
