Apartment therapy cure

October 1, 07

living room
+ I like that piece of glass table for my computer. The round lights on the floor makes a great effect on the walls. Plus, I adore lava lamps. Originally uploaded by: sergio recabarren

bathroom
+ I don’t have a tub in my flat. The only favorable way to do in a small bathroom (not what you’re thinking) is that, it doesn’t need much time to clean. This one looks very stylish, yet so comfortable. I love those rugs. Originally uploaded by: luce_beaulieu

kitchen
+ Kitchen with a view + a Frame like this creates a peaceful atmosphere. I can’t wait to eat my cereal in the morning. The only problem with my tiny kitchen is that you can’t even move or bend to clean the sink. Originally uploaded by: scandinavianstyletherap y

bed
+ I always break the rules on how to make a bed, I know for the fact that if you made your bed everyday, it’s more inviting. I really like the idea of sleeping in a good mattress bed as it gives you that ’sleeping-under-the-cloud’ effect. I do think that the key sleep item is your pillows. I will have lots and lots around it. Originally uploaded by: tofutti break

mac gadgets
+ More iGadgets. These are so pretty. Need I say more? Originally uploaded by: iToni

I love interior designs. I really do. And because the World is such an awful, stressful place, it makes me want to create a place for people to escape to when they come home. So whenever I am in place or a room of someone, I imagine what I could do to it. Would you hire me?

By looking at these beautiful Apartments, I have come into realization that I needed some kind of home therapy these days. To organize the clutters in my own tiny Apartment and to send the dirty linens to the laundry shop.

I would hire you, but my apartment is already taken, as flickr says. If you like those things you can have a look at the plans a a few pictures here

if I once buy a penthouse with a big terrace, i´ll call you.

The first and the last photo… likey, likey! *sigh* One for the daytime and the other (the 1st one) for “night-blogging”. *sigh* *sigh* *sigh* - marni dreaming. hehe.

the last photo..WOW! that person has too many computers, that’s kind of so unnecessary!

Inthesity, I think the problem with me is that I can’t draw. I’m not good at planning and again, I can’t draw. I think if you’re an Interior design, you should at least know how to read blueprints of the entire structure (or a house map?) I think it’s not always easy to say, “i’ll make your house really pretty”. You can call me for some coffee and we will talk about fees, hehehe.

Marni, I would also pick the same photos. I think the dark colored wall gives justice to the white furry carpet. I want everything in that room except for the chair.

Diane, don’t you think that’s too much? If ever I have those, it wouldn’t be easy which computer to pick. I think the iMac monitors fascinates me, I want one like that, maybe in a few months? Speaking of Xmas lists, mmmm now that makes me think.

Love the pictures. I would live there any day. I especially love the piece of art on your breakfast wall…is it your work?

Thess, how’s Thailand? Are you back yet? Did you buy anything exotic? A friend of mine who used to travel there even bought a life-size Thai wooden Sawasdee doll, as they say it adds charm in your living room.

Rhea, oh I wish it’s mine. Doesn’t it look like one of Warhol’s drawing, does it? What I love in this kitchen is the tiny table, with the mountain view and although pretty much if you live in a city like HK, the view you can see around here are mostly clothes hanging on sticks outside their windows, it’s still a sight to see as the typical HK way of living.

Ron, of course you can. I think we can get them cheap from IKEA, I mean, a lookalike design. Problem is, I have no rooms for tables in my tiny apartment. So pwede na rin siguro foldable table?

Cheh, why not? White is something.. ok easy to the eye for your kids to draw and write anything with a pencil. Don’t you agree that KIDS loves white walls - they think it’s a blackboard.

Interior designer, there is one inside every urban professional exposed to various styles of living. It simply comes with taste. One thing about the breakfast counter in the image is you get to lean on that side wall while taking a sip of hot chocolate…or tsaa.

Client informed me this morning he WANTS to have his new office designed and ready by, hear this: SATURDAY, walls painted, carpets, blinds and 2nd hand furnishing…funny. something like, hey santa claus now na. Most often we get paid for the headache.

K, i like the mini office. that is what I want in the near future. mas maganda mag blog pag ganyan ka-aliwalas ang mini-office with a window beside it.

2007-10-02 02:07:12

when i saw the first photo, i thought, wow what a pretty flat K has!!! hehehe ang ganda!

how’s hong kong treating you these days?

2007-10-02 02:47:37

how i wish i can have a place decorated like that, but with a toddler around. i don’t think it’s possible. love the home office =)

Ten, I think one of the tough challenges on your part as an architect is how to deal with your clients. You need to take the risk most of the time. Many times, you will encounter glitches, difficult clients and it is a must that you can deal with them. I think being an Interior designer as your job, it requires a good ability to multitask. It’s not easy I suspect but more often a designer always do more than one thing at a time. You can be giving instructions to your contractors, working with your assistant on the fabrics, all while explaining it your client. This can cause a little bit of stress, but if you are good at multitasking, it is not so bad. Pero, in your own scenario, parang ang bilis naman nun, in just few days? Goodluck my friend. If you are good in multitasking, you need not to worry.

Blue, absolutely. It can actually help us creates thoughts and be inspired. I think the person who owns this is a super-geek, do we really need 3 monitors to blog on a given time? Anyway, I’m still impressed with the mini-office where there are rooms for anything specially if it’s all from MAC.

Asphaire, oh how I wish. And how I wish I own my flat. Looking back 15 yrs ago, it’s like I am investing in a place to live without actually owning it, and that’s the problem living in HK - with just as little salary to feed yourself is something to think why I’m still surviving living here but the fact is that renting a flat is a big deal than you might think! Well, here’s what my small Flat actually looks like. And thank you, I’m enjoying my singlehood - mostly inside my tiny flat.

Nell, mismo. It would be a NIGHTMARE.

BTW i’m an undergrad of architecture. yes, i love interiors better though. then again, architects define spaces thus creates the sense of interior and exterior. hay, complicated field of study really. hahaha~ basta, i love interior designing and the likes. period.

2007-10-02 09:12:12

pic 1 = love that round lights on the floor. coolness
pic 2 = reminds me of Kyle XY
pic 3 = love those little pots on the window…sana beach ang view pag dungaw jan
pic 4 = love the bed and the orange mattress but please, no dogs =D
pic 5 = THE BEST!

plus, the audio is really relaxing…parang gusto ko mag-body balance

enjoy!

2007-10-02 09:15:27

yup, you’re right, K. hate the red chair. it’s not too comfortable. maybe another chair but still red. :)
If I had the monitors in the last picture, I’d probably blog more often. haha.

2007-10-02 11:04:52

Living in the country, space is not much of a problem for me (not rubbing in ;) ). I think you’ve to me extra creative with small space, minimalist might be the key, and less is more. I love the music, soothing for the soul.

2007-10-03 03:07:15

i would hire you, why not? kailangan magka-house muna ako. hehe.

i love contemporary interior designs. minimalist pero functional. :)

Kofi, call me frustrated but some of my peers discouraged me of taking Arts and Designs kasi daw kailangan marunong ka sa “math”. At the end, I’d take up Nursing dahil mas in-demand nun ang medical profession, pero look at me now, I never really practiced Nursing. Sayang!

Chuva said: “the audio is really relaxing…parang gusto ko mag-body balance”. Can you? use a ball, step on it with only 1 foot, raise your hands into thin air and stay there for 10 seconds, kapag natumba ka, join ballet. LOL.

Marni, I’m probably gonna watch the monitors without touching it. It makes you feel obligated to blog at maging busy-busyhan diba? I’d probably be in my room the whole day listening to jazz.

Ginger, you should get BUDDHA BAR music compilations - they are pleasing to the ears.

Meeya, and I like modern designs and more or less, something japanese. See, been reading architecture books instead of fictions.

2007-10-04 03:03:15

bossing, ayoko ng circus. nyahahah

2007-10-07 10:51:39

wouldn’t it be nice to have a tub in the middle of the apartment, parang siya ang pina focal point ng apartment.

it looks like you have an artistic tendency, why not translate it into reality?
