You’re such a smog
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Yes dear folks, I’m still having this “touristy” fever since I got my new Olympus. And for as long as the battery ain’t dead yet, I’ll keep taking pishhtures (pictures). Lots of ‘em. Lots and lots of Hong Kong.
Destination - The Peak or the Victoria Peak.
I would reckon if you are planning to visit Hong Kong (oh at least for a few days) and not visiting The Peak is kinda like going to New York without the Empire State Building (ok, I read about that in a Dymocks bookstore). But my visit at The Peak today was a wrong timing. The weather actually didn’t participate on me - Hong Kong’s smogs never seem too far away. I was on the TOP. The view was great but it didn’t provide me with a good panoramic shots. I think it is much better for the lens than using a digital hand-palm camera.

While up there, you could see Kowloon, the towers on Lama Island and all the beautiful buildings that make up Hong Kong’s stunning skyline. I stayed there, up and went to the “viewing point” taking the perfect shot for hours until I decided to have my snack at Burger King. Since my “allowance” was only good for a meal of french fries, a large coke and a double cheese burger, I snubbed the Bubba Gump at the 3rd Floor with its much much comfortably looking table. Expensive you think? *view for more photos.
It was around seven already where it was perfect to take a night shot. It was very romantic (aherm, I am not jealous watching those guys with partners) view overlooking the mighty illuminated skyscrapers of Hong Kong Island, but I didn’t mind, because it is simply a joy to see - up close and personal. “What you see is definately what you get”.
You should never miss this place. It was a pleasure meeting Bruce Lee for the first time. Sadly, Madame Tussauds has turned him into a WAX, literally.

haay memories! babalik talaga ako ng HK! promise! pero the last time we were there, we got caught in the tourist traps, kakainis, hehehe. dapat sa susunod, ikaw na lang tour guide-slash-photographer ko tapos we can go shopping! yey!
ang ganda naman ng Hong Kong! =) i wish to visit one day..
now I’m envious of all the great photos you’re taking of HK! continue on though
I have some competition now (hehe)
Meeya, oh no problem. But you know I prefer to walk around town, take the local bus, eat at alley-shops & most of all, I belly laugh a lot. Pwede na?
Diane, and there are also ugly parts of HK that I would one day capture. Watch out later.
C, oh don’t be silly. Of course my shots are better. Hahaha, jokes.
Thanks for sharing the photos K, I didn’t realize how beautiful HK is, I might have to visit there one day. The clarity of your photos, even on a cloudy day, made me want to buy a new camera, I think I’ll wait till I’m ready to go on my next trip, might be next year, by then they might come out with a 15 mega pixels for like $300, wishful thinking right?
keep taking photos! oh yeah, and posting them too. i’ve been enjoying looking at them on flickr. it’s been a long time since i’ve been to HK and some of the shots bring back fond memories.
Been browsing your Flickr btw & I enjoyed your cool photos there ofcourse.I’d like to meet this wax version of him,too hoping that he’ll melt seeing me lol
Ginger, I was somewhat not satisfied with the night shots. I do admit that having a digital camera is just for a sideline job. But look at those things, you don’t need to worry bringing a tripod, don’t you think? Thanks.
J, oh did you? Thanks. If I have more time, I’ll let you travel back in HK through my lens.
Hi Cheh, wala bang Madame Tussads diyan? I saw the entire wax from Diana, Michael, the Royals, and more) but I didn’t attempt to see it again kasi ayaw ko ng magbayad ng entrance ulet. Matutunaw ang pera ko sa mahal. Sus gastos!
hi tito k! yes, buhay pa ako! heheheheheh …
one of my fav places there in HK is the Victoria Peak … i couldnt agree with you more that visitors should really go and see what the view from that place has to offer!
at katulad din ng maraming turistas … nahulog din kami ng aking pamilya sa mga “commercial spots” na kasama sa tour! still all was good!!!
the view on the Peak is one of the best, especially sa gabi! do you know, I actually planned to walk that hill instead of taking the tram but it never pushed through. Buti na lang! kulang pa naman ako sa exercise-ambisyon ko lang yon! lol
great photos, btw
K, It’s about time you got a SLR… pictures are well captured.
Grace, diba namatay ka ng ilang beses? at dinala ka sa Singapore. What happened to your blog? “Bubuka at Sasara” teka ano yan….
Touring on a group package is no biggie really. People nowadays managed to just walk-around-watch-around than actually shoppe-around. So you guys saved more money then? Pero, sayang din ang hindi mamili.
Duke, do you know that trail near the tower? I couldn’t do it. I panicked when I saw the cliff and started to walk backwards. I’m ok with walking “on a treadmill” say 15mins on 5mph. Hahaha.
Asha, not bad huh? I’m using it till I get tired of it. Why not, right?
hahahahaha.. yes that trail! hanggang plano lang ako dun! but hey, I did some hiking in Sai Kung and Stanley before… puede na yon!
Aba Sai Kung? I like the view there, not polluted and guess what? We will have our water activity there this weekend so watch out for some pics of me in swimming trunks, hahaha.
Hay… gusto ko tuloy dumalaw dyan! Ang ganda!
