Die Hard 4.0“Did you see that”?

The sidekick computer hacker guy by the name of Matt Farrell played by the irritating and eventually amusing Justin Long was his most quotable line in Die Hard 4.0.

I suspect most of you have already watched it. I’ve enjoyed it last night. It was phenomenal.

And although I was pretty much wondering at first whether I should or not watch this movie (it was opened like a week ago), for an actor starring a 50-something Bruce Willis, I asked, “can he still pull it off?” Amazingly, he did. This could be my pick for the 2007 Summer Blockbusters.

Well it has its flaws. There’s a bit boring in the middle part, bad guys aren’t that memorable than in previous installments except for that beautiful Maggie Q who caught me by surprised. She plays one of the computer hacking extortionists. She’s probably more than just a pretty face with a hot bod but she can kick ass and provides one of the most gripping fights in the movie. Her character suited her that it was even hard for me to feel the fight scene between her and Willis when she met her tragic, painful death. I think she trained her martial arts really well on that scene.

Apparently, I was somewhat annoyed by McClane’s (played by Willis) teethingly painful quips about “hot Asian ninja hooker” which I think was completely unnecessary but oh well we can’t boycott about that, can we? At least it’s still profanity-free. Maybe I was just paying too much attention about the many action scenes.

I was still too young to watch the first one when it came out, so I watched it a few years later. But I was definitely a fan, for sure. It’s a very American type of action movie. I had a brother who was into action films so I knew all about them whether I liked them or not. - Maggie Q.’s initial reaction to the original Die Hard movie.

Ok, I am not good about movie reviews. When I say, I loved it, that pretty much explains. Anyways, here’s an official review from IndieLondon.

In the end cut of course, we are welcoming John McClane in this movie. And you know what they say about old memories? They Die Hard.

And speaking of movies, I am now convinced not-to-miss to watch The Transformers as proposed by Blue. It is More Than Meets The Eye. We’ll see.

haven’t seen die hard 4.0 yet, but i do remember having seen the other installments (well, parts of ‘em since i’d be then too preoccupied with my barbie than with mr. john mcclane’s bruises). i’m dying to catch this one though, gotta squeeze it in this exam week! ^_^ bruce willis never tires of this game (who’d go tired of earning muchos, e?) and i am not getting tired of him either (i’d forget that he once dated lindsay lohan…eck).

you oughta watch transformers. real good movie, that i can say since i utterly found the cartoons boring before (again, i had barbie then). the kid (played by shia labeouf) is fairly ok. i’m honestly liking action movies these days.

K… watched this movie already back to back with the Transformers… this movie is AWESOME!!! a lot of car chase and fight scenes (wooohooo) and not to mention, John Mclane rock especially that Car the blew the chopper like a missile…

I agree with your review (don’t feel awkward, this really is a nice review), it was somehow dragging at the middle and plus, the death of villain was so sudden that it never gave us the chance to choke haha. but over all that was a very good movie.

Is Maggie Q asian? I say, she was really b***y on that movie and my ears was literally flopping when she fell on that elevator shaft. Her fighting scene was shortened by the director because if he prolonged that fight, it could end up into a bed scene haha
have a nice week ahead of you my friend!

    K!
At least you didn’t write a spoiler…hehe…as I’ve not watch it nor Transformers either. Was suppose to watch the latter yesterday but I woke up late due to the move…so hopefully this coming weekend, I’ll get to watch them both. There’s the Harry Porter movie too…I’ll be so broke then! LOL!!
    have a great week ahead…

harry potter 5 can be considered good (better than the 3rd installment), if you haven’t read the book. but if you actually did (which i did), you’d get a bit disappointed. but it’s okay, all the wand tricks and danielle radcliffe action (and smooching) will do it. ^_^

i saw this movie last week and i liked it! for me it was even better than “the transformers”, but maybe cuz i never read the comics before. transformers is a guy movie, i think. die hard is scary too, to think that it could happen in the real world knowing that everything’s computerized nowadays.

I saw it on the weekend, as well as Transformers and Harry Potter last week. I liked Die Hard, though I agree the villains aren’t memorable. I felt that the other 3 movies were filled with a lot more action. This movie seemed more family friendly.
