Black cat

Even on a hot afternoon, as a requirement on my day off, I went off to visit Stanley Market, the small village commonly known as the fishing village in the southernmost part of Hong Kong Island to sample a delight at the al fresco restaurants on the waterfront, when I caught this little jewel sitting by the rock near the shore. I’ve been thinking about adopting another cat, I’d say I would like to get an older one instead of starting out with a kitty. At least I will now have another “playmate”. I still miss my Ginger.

My last visit there was a few years ago and I was surprised that this place has subsequently changed. It still is one of the most favourite place for tourists to find gifts for friends and relatives with numerous bargains from which you can get any Hong Kong souvenir you can think of at reasonable, negotiable prices. But since taking photos was obligatory, I took a few shots of the beautiful village. Only if I had not travelled alone, it would have been more fun.

It was on sale, just about HK$320 (buy one, take one!). The filipina sales lady even thought I was a Singaporean tourist, then we exchanged words and I was impressed, aba ang husay ni Manang mag english (nice accent there). So therefore, she gave me an extra discount.

I often think that Stanley is the best place to stay because of its magnificent views. It’s a place for villas and mansions of the rich and famous. If only I was rich I’d want to live there. See more photos.

To travel Stanley Market, you can only take a bus, the best is #6, from the city. As you take the route, the bus climbs up and you can pretty much afford seeing fine views. If you want to return to town quickly, consider taking bus #260, an express bus that makes few stops along the north of Hong Kong Island, but overall, the double-decker bus travels every 25mins or so, therefore there’s more time to wander around late in the afternoon shopping in the open air Market.

Sounds like Stanley Market is a great place to just stroll around. If you do get another cat, just remember that the name Ginger is taken. :P

Hey thanks for reminding me how nice stanley market is. It’s one of my favorite places in HK. No tall buildings, no MTR and not congested. Nice view [even the ride going there is amazing, I always take the upper level of the bus],fresh air, great restaurants and good bargains all in one place. Hope to visit it again someday!

Ginger, nee nar nee nar, it’s always easy to find names for a cat, if ever I’d got one, I’ll name it “Onions”. Hahaha.

Masel, like what Treena say, “kaladkarin” ako. Diba mahilig syang magyaya sa kung saan? Kaya lang parang nahilo ako dun sa upper-deck.

Okay, when I have a lot of time and money, I will visit America, Japan, Malaysia and Hong Kong and do shopping in those places. I looks like a certain somebody has become a shoppers’ guide :)

Ed, I’ll be your tourguide, it’s for free. Of course an ice lemon tea and McCrispy chicken burger is fine with me.

Duke, the ‘gwei’s’ get-a-way, happy hour is something you don’t wanna miss.

I’m not a cat person but someone told me I’m just like a cat. Now, now, until now I can’t understand what he means really.

Ohhhh the place looks quite nice and even though I dont really like cats I always have a soft spot on black cats. Weird huh?

Hanne, maybe he meant you have a beautiful green-colored eye - or maybe you’re a night person and a sleepy-headed creature during daylight? Hahaha.

Charles, I think that’s a good thing, it reveals that you were able to trust people, even if you don’t know nothing about them.

What is ‘nee nar nee nar’? Onions for a cat, Hehehe, I like to see that. I’m a dog person, if I ever get a new one, I might call it Guy, or Lady. :)

Hahaha it’s a cat thing babbling strangely (sharp teeth showing to annoy somebody, to be exact). I think I started to love cats when I first saw kittens in cage at the SPC here, people abandoned them and right there I adopted my first cat Ginger. While the dogs…. ugh I just can’t be that serious walking them outside (with newspaper) just to let them do the poo-poo.

Oh! Cat’s are creatures of the night? Really? I believe the term that my dear old professor used to describe me as being a car were, “regal” and “snobbish”…that even true? Maybe it ain’t so bad to be likened as a cat, though I’ve always wanted a dog…
