Shuffle
Originally uploaded by: maury.m

I got this meme from Gigi and I actually found it fun. It’s a simple tag questionnaire using an iPod shuffle that allows random shuffling among all the music stored in your player. You can do this on your computer music library, like iTunes, and I’m sure you have one.

Here are the rules:

1. Open your library (iTunes, Media Player, etc.)
2. Put it on shuffle.
3. Press play.
4. For every question, type the song that’s playing.
5. When you go to the next question, press the next button.
6. Don’t lie and pretend you’re cool.
7. When you’re finished, tag some other people to do it — or just in case you want it, you’re free to do it.

Give it a try. I’d like to see what your musical answers are.

Opening credits?
Everything I Do - Beyonce featuring Bilal
it makes me think but never regreted what I just did.

Waking up?
Analyse - Thom Yorke
that is, trying to see if I need to turn off my phone alarm clock or go back to 30mins more sleep.

First Day of School?
Note To God - JoJo
I do pray and make a sign of a cross.

Falling in love?
The Stars Shine - Moondoggie Ferguson
absolutely!

First song?
In My Mind - Heather Headley
I can’t even remember the lyrics.

Breaking up?
Sandra - Barry Manilow
there’s so many things to say.

Prom?
Everything’s Just Wonderful - Lily Allen
and I thought, it was boring.

Life?
May Pag-ibig Pa Kaya (translates: “HELP” - hahaha.) - South Border
Really? I hope so too. Finger’s crossed.

Mental breakdown?
Don’t Speak - Leela James
That’s unfair, or maybe it’s true, I shut myself down for about a second.

Driving?
One Evening - Feist
and I said, “I’m safe at the backseat”.

Flashback?
Paano (translates: How) - Shamrock
sometimes I tend to forget things that doesn’t matter but can’t.

Getting back together?
Like A Star - Corrine Bailey Rae
that perfectly translates.

Wedding?
War On Sound - Moonbabies
What?

Birth of a child?
One Word - Elliott Yamin
a gift from Heaven.

Final battle?
I’d Like To - Corrine Bailey Rae
take it or leave it.

Death scene?
Friday Night - Lily Allen
and everyones going to parrrdeyyy with me for sure.

Funeral song?
Gatekeeper - Feist
figuratively, someone’s looking after me even on my funeral.

End credits?
Jealous - Nina
I told you so, are you?

If you like my music shuffle, let me know and I am willing to download the songs for you.

I’d do this, but a bit embarrass of my music collection, for I listen to mostly Thai music, and my knowledge about iTunes and such is on the 3rd grade level. I’m impressing with your music collection and I probably need to take a crash course on how to upload/download (see I sound stupid already, for I don’t know what I’m talking about..lol)

Anyway, interesting how the questions and songs seem to run together very well.

Diane, it’s just my own personal ‘reactions’ (in italics) to the songs picked by the “shuffle” for every questions. I was surprised, specially the ‘Death Scene?” :)
Nye, it doesn’t matter what kind of music you’re listening - not everyone likes Rock , or anything that you see on MTV. I don’t know, when I was a kid, I love listening to bands (my Grandfather’s band) then my Dad (he was a trumpeter). Every Sunday early mornings, he’d wake us up by ‘blowing his lungs out’ off his trumpet, so loud that our neighbours would eventually think we were the ‘nuts family’. I also like songs that makes me want to sing from a quiet and beauty of nature, from lakes to oceanside, from trees in all stages of color to flowers and butterflies — all of these restore my spirit and make my life sing!

ATTN: I think all my MUSIC slides for daily music posting isn’t working. The site that I have downloaded these songs doesn’t allow direct linking unless you click on my playlist. For alternative listening, my sidebar BOX music can entertain your soul as well.

Can somebody give me a LARGE BUCKET so I can store all my music there somewhere, anywhere? Incase “YOU” bumped at my blog looking for music downloads, man, you’re one lucky person. :)

The one ‘meme’ that suits you to a T. Hehe.

K, It slipped my mind… happy mother’s day to your mum. Hope she’s doing well.

Hi Asha, oh I forgot to greet you myself too. I’m like, ‘wait a minute, I think I did missed one of my favourite blog-friends’. And that was you. Happy Mother’s Day to you Asha - browsing back the last year’s Mother’s day, you mentioned this.

Thanks for encouraging words K, I do listen to rock-n-roll, new age, classical, but somehow I keep going back to Thai music; and not just the music, also read Thai books. I think it might be because I was afraid that I might forget how to read Thai, and the plot and setting of Thai novels might be familiar to me, so I invest the majority of my time reading Thai novels. If I read English novels as much as I read Thai, my writing might be a lot better than what it is now.

Thanks for sharing your music, if I like any of your songs, does that mean that I can download to my ipod?

Awww.. thanks K. Feeling all mushy now. :)

Nye, one of my goal these days is to be able to read one decent book I can call, “serious reading”. I can’t find one. However a blog friend Meeya told me to buy the bestseller “The Alchemist”. I’m feeling like retiring for a moment and one day, I will fill my small flat with books not with shopping bags.

Asha, oh here’s some tissue - just return it back when you’re finished. I recycle stuff. :)

K, breaking up to the tune of Sandra is just appropriate, don’t you think so?

I like Corinne Bailey Rae’s Like A Star and I think there can’t be a better song for “getting back together” but South Border’s May Pagibig Pa Kaya for “Life” and Nina’s Jealous for your “End credits” is hilarious!

I enjoyed this! :)

Hi blue, btw I hope it’s ok if I linked you. Speaking of pinoy bands, I will give it a try to download songs from ‘itchyworms’, my brother just told me “they rock”.

Bugsy, I don’t know why I had two songs played from Corinne Bailey Rae, have not listened to her for ages (I’m stucked with Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse at the mo’). And yes, I can’t find a better translation for “may pag-ibig…” help me there. I laughed at my Death Scene actually. Like, people do like to “Party on Fridays” when I’m dead. Hahaha. Glad it made you laughed a little. ;)

K, some people seem to think that you’ve to read novel to be considered reading, but really it’s not, I think reading is like taking a vitamin for your brain, it just the potent of the medicine varies according to the material that you’re reading, for eg. trashy novel might be mostly just trash like the name suggested. If you enjoy what you’re reading (eg. blogs or current events), then it should be enough, you don’t have to punish yourself by reading a novel.

BTW, recycle stuff is good. ;)

Wavatar K» added these pithy words on: May 15, 2007

Got a point there. I’m actually punishing myself. I am a slow reader.

I’ve been browsing few good blogs from the Rice Bowl Journal Community and was surprised about people’s choices of books. Why is that when they put a few good ones in the list, does that make a person look smarter?

I honestly think I enjoy reading beautiful pictures of diff Asian houses. I like the Bali houses.

K wrote:“…Why is that when they put a few good ones in the list, does that make a person look smarter?”

No, it doesn’t make them smarter, people have different levels of inteligent, just because we’re ignorant in certain subject doesn’t make us stupid, and the one that we think are stupid might actually be smarter than us in certain area. The choices of books that we read should be based on our interest and enjoyment, not based on what people say or think. I read what hit my fancy, not ashame to admit that I read many blogs. Some would try to show off that they’ve a good list, some just like to share their list, it’s all how you look at it, it varies from day to day, it’s all about your perception in things, in life, how you interprete their intention. I guess for some, if they’re not sure what to read, then the best sellers should be a good guide, but then again some might read the ‘how to book’, others flowers, plants and garden.
