Jollibee in Hong Kong brings closer to Home

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

When I first arrived in the city in Manila from my Province, the first thing that comes to my mind was to eat a real fried chicken. Not just some fried chicken, but Jollibee’s fried chicken.

Now that we have Jollibee in Hong Kong, it brings me closer to home.

What makes this food so special? Do you think it’s the flavour? The aroma? Nice & crispy? Is it the Jollibee Mascot? Cheap but delicous? The fried chicken was sooooo good. The skin was crispy. The chicken itself, moist and flavorful.

Forget Chinese food. I feast on those fried chickens today. All of it.

Jollibee is my kind of food that makes you feel so proud being a Filipino. No kidding. Everytime I go there to order my Chicken Meal, the feeling is just different. It makes you feel so attached with the food.

And WOW, there’s this new Jolli Crispy Chicken Burger. Not in Hong Kong yet, but at least we have the Aloha Burger.

Then at the end of the meal? I got these delicious dessert. A friend, thanks Soyee - gave me this freebies “pasalubong” from Tagaytay. Doesn’t these look familiar?

Whenever I think of Jollibee’s Chicken Joy I always remember that smart alecky remark of a friend of mine.

    Eto sabi nya…

    corny!

Hahaha. Nakangiti ka ding kumakain nyan kahit mainit. Well Pinoys still compare McDo to Jollibee. We copy these fastfoods naman to Americans pero syempre iniba ang lasa ng Jollibee dahil:

    Pag chicken— Jollibee
    Pag burger— McDo
    Pag burgersteak– syempre sa Jollibee
    pag gravy— McDo
    Pag spaghetti— Jollibee

Pag palabok — luto ng Nanay. LOL.

i have tried jollibee in the Philippines. very popular! ang daming tao! whoever started jollibee was a genius. look at the money he/she generating now all over the world?

few months ago, i heard that they were currently building jollibee in the province. don’t know for sure.

Hi chrizane, if I’m tired eating fried chicken, ALOHA BURGER is the answer. It’s delicious compared to the McChicken Burger of McDo. Oh they should have one in NY, aren’t there too many Pinoys in the US?

That’s ok, thank you for spending your time reading my blog.

Ate Beng, wow I’m touched -salamat, we may be so far away at each other and yet, we are “closer”.

Walang Jollibee sa Germany? Aba, ‘you don’t know what you’re missing’ then? :)
Belle, the last time I was in Virac, 5 yrs ago I think, I saw that Jollibee - “take-out” counter lang parang truck so they can move from barangay to barangays hehehe. I wonder if they are still there considering mabenta naman talaga. But in Legazpi, there are several branches na rin, baka kasi mahirap mag deliver ng products by air on a daily basis so parang “try out” lang ata yun.

I´ve been in Portugal this week end and something hurt my stomach, yesterday I had fever and had to drive 550 km under heavy rain to get home. I don´t fell like dancing…neitherl like eating crispy chicken, but what if I once travel to Manila? I hope my stomach is ok then.

inthesity, sorry to hear that - maybe ’twas the food that you ate (which I hope not the fried chicken). In the US, there are too many Jollibee fastfoods now but I guess none in your country or other parts in Europe. If you visit Manila, there are thousands of Jollibee with the smiling-big headed RED BEE mascot.

Duke, hahaha I was probably replying to comments at the same time - that’s weird tho. Sowee.

aaarrrghhhh! ang baduy ng commercial. i hate the fake accent, “so dilishas tahlagah”.

wala ding jollibee dito sa NC, the nearest jollibee to us is in Los Angeles, which is 6-days drive away, hehe. tapos once you get there, the chikenjoys are actually sisiwjoys (ang liit kasi), and the champ has a different name (i forgot na), tapos walang dalandan juice. ang mahal-mahal-mahal pa!

Meeya, haha that’s the Jollibee in HK in your picture. When was that taken? It’s still the same location. The building infront of it is the World Wide House, home of Filipino products (I heard Imelda Marcos is a part owner of this bldg). They used to have one near my place but they gave it up for KFC dahil the rents daw was too expensive. I didn’t notice na baduy yung ads. Ganun naman parati - it’s irritating sometimes to see a sachet’ shampoo commercials, oh well onliindapilipins.

Sayang.

hi k, that pic was taken in april 2003. so, same location pa rin pala. i’m glad! it took hubby and i two hours to find that location! the jollibee stores here in the US are all in the west coast. madaya nga eh, madami din namang pinoys here in the east pero wala silang branch dito. anyway, siguro ok na rin. at least, yung jollibee experience namin will always be something to look forward to. :)

  16. Wavatar K on 10.05.2007 at 22:38 Post reply

What surprises me is that, di lang Pinoys kumakain dun, pati mga chekwa paborito na rin nila ng Chicken joy. And of course, yung big breakfast nila sobrang sarap - kaso ang bagal minsan ng service nila.
