Wow, I can fly in Second Life

Second LifeThere’s no doubt that you’ve probably heard about Second Life, the online world where people creates virtual selves.

I was updating some new features for my Mac when I stumbled at this cool game and I thought I’d give it a try. I honestly am not a person who loves online games but everything FREE about Apple - yes it’s addicting - I ‘ve always tried them on. However, I learned this game was originally developed for Windows, so it works differently on a Mac. I encountered some problems with the use of its keyboard and mouse (oh how I love my new Mac mighty mouse) commands but never fear, it was easy to start the process.

And that was what I’ve been doing the past few days.

I never thought I’d say things, “your ass looks perfect” to someone. My first to ever enter this world is to learn how to fly. I have met a few bunch of people which I suspect most of them are on their twenties and I may say I felt like I was young again - which literally means, I started to learn ways on how to create and play with my body. At first I thought, I was just talking to a machine which randomly programmed in the software. But it’s not. It’s between having an IM with someone and the rest are just virtually a moving avatars. You can become almost anyone you want to be.

Second LifeIt’s amazing to see that you are actually there trying to figure out where you at. How you maneuver yourself - such an advanced human feature. You see people with funny clothes and your curiosity never stops you.You can change your clothing, hair, and even skin, and you can be a bit more, well a hunky looking boy? A lady in red night gown? Anything you want for your appearance is entirely up to you. Infact I named myself, Knoizki Jacobus. Believe it or not, it is where I first worn my tux. I was still trying to find my way around. I ran into this dude-I-forgot-his-name the other night in a ‘Sex Club Beach’ - oh yes they have orgy, weird kind of world there - sitting at the bar, watching the ladies dance and said that my name sounded very Greek. He was from France. We had a conversation. Another guy was nearby and he had this interesting pod-like thing with him.

“Second Life is beyond a game; it’s a tool for artistic freedom that brings people together.” - Foxy Xevious, Second Life resident

I’m just starting with the Basic Free account (which will then ask me to upgrade after seven days trial) and I could already imagine that this will be my new addiction.

Second LifeSecond Life is a multi-player game or a chat program which gives user a place to create a new body, buy a land then built and own a house. My first attempt took me to the “Help Island” where clicking anything I see and what to do is somewhat exciting. Using a mouse and the four arrow keys lets me bump into walls, fall down stairs, get lost before I can get myself found. It’s a place where I do so with open eyes and eventually, learning how to fly like Peter Pan. Such a ride that I always have to ask other people where I was, how to get elsewhere, how I stand up, sit down or pick up an object. I begun exploring my body and make it look like super muscular or whatever and similarly, it’s easy to meet, touch and “feel” each other. I feel very young again and this is a very good thing.

Interesting, I thought. I still don’t know how to create my own Island, but I was curious finding my way around. Still thinking that having a house would be neat to have, at least virtually. And I never thought I’d wake up one morning thinking, can I really fly? And oh, I can’t stop dancing, the animation was cute.

Then of course, I’d be writing about it here.

Hey Charles, I have not asked for a pair of socks, have I? Kidding aside, I thought I’d ask for a pair of shoes. Hahaha and yes, a registered mail would take at least a week or few days. It’s safe, no worries. Thanks a zillion, how nice of you.

I will not touch Second Life.

    Addictive?

    Most probably.

I rather meet people in real life, but that’s just my opinion. Other people love it.

Hi Range, it was just for the fun of it, well probably for now. I may be interested in online gaming other than this for as long as it’s forever free, I’m fine with it but I’m quite shocked knowing there are actually other people who enjoy it. I’m amused. I know for the fact that sooner or later, I will lost interest of playing with it unless boredom strikes upon me, it’ll be my other source of “keeping busy”. Happy Easter, btw.

Charles, a pair of socks must have come with a nice shoes you know. I’m size 38. If not, a pair of rubber slipper will do. Summer is coming, remember? hehehe.

I know that game. I’ve been wanting to play it, I can’t pay for it because I have no credit card. :(

hahahaha if I will send you shoes or slippers the post will cost me twice than the item itself. Btw, do you think that the threaded comments work well ? Coz I notice that sometimes you cant send a comment if your cocoment is on.

Weng, try the basic, it’s all for free and experience it at least then decide if you really reaaaally want to buy the product later.

Charles, aherm wait a sec, I thought we have already made an agreement - Yes or No? LOL. The threaded comment plugin should work well (not sure tho about its update) but be careful when using it, you should back-up your default comment.php file incase you want to reuse it later. One thing to consider, visitors avatars won’t work on the threaded comment plugin. And hey, talking about Cocomment, I’ve stopped using it for a long time.

Heard a lot about second life. Sounds interesting. I’d only play it if it’s free, though. haha.

enjoy k, have fun “playing with your body” as you said. That was sooo kinky-sounding, BTW. haha.

And you really need to have a powerful broadband & computer machine. The game is a mixed of socializing, interactions, imaginary place & you can even earn money in there (so they say). Free is good but it’s limited.

Do you know that you can also buy “body parts” (yes even the ones down under) & blings there? You can buy sex toys, fake boobs & other kinky stuff (prices are higher). So if you want to buy these, you should earn bucks by spending the time “dancing” (by yourself or with someone) to get points. Ok, it’s not that I’m suggesting. LOL.

been seeing second life in a lot of feature stories. I even read an article where the guy earns his living from it. I haven’t tried it though :) I have a feeling it is very addictive!
