H&M designed by Madonna

Finally, Hennes & Mauritz or for short H&M, a Swedish clothing company, known for their inexpensive and fashionable clothing has now arrived in Hong Kong.
It was opened three days ago and I went there today but it was still packed of seriously long queue of shoppers. I beleived it was even more crowded during the first opening day since there was at least special pieces of garments given away personally signed by singer Madonna.
According to newspaper, H&M has now plans to expand to open two additional new stores somewhere at Kowloon and another one in Hong Kong Island this year. In addition, two Shanghai stores are already being planned for opening and the first H&M store in Japan is set to open in Harajuku, Tokyo sometime in 2008.
And oh, watch the commercial, she’s sounding very British.
What I didn’t like about it is the location which is situated in the very crowded District in Central. Why is it had to be there? It’s just too far away from the rest of the high-end malls such as the IFC and Pacific Place. But then again, the shop has 4 floors to enjoy the shopping experience from men, women & kids alike. There are nice digital shots from Hong Kong Digital Vision site.

I will be in HK tomorrow. I sent you an email, email me back. We are only staying for a day, but if you have the time, it would be fun to hook up. I will be there with my wife.
wala pa sa greece to kaka loka i get mine in UK and in france….
anyway in the old days my friend from sweden used to send me blouses from there
I think I saw it now here but was kindof busy to check the store.
I guess living in London changed her accent
where is my comment?
Sha, how come? Isn’t it a European brand or something? I know HK is full of brand concious people so perhaps Madonna can give the impression as another “The Queen” here. HK is becoming more or else, the New York of Asia, don’t you think?
Charles, she’s full of that “making noise” that’s why she’s still going ’strong’. Isn’t she a “Lucky Star”? And oh, sorry about the missing-comment, wordpress was upgrading.
me love H&M. but trivia for u…. most of their garments are made from bangladesh. whenever i fly to dhaka, they sell those factory watchamacallit of still good quality for 10% of its orig price. mango, zara etc etc etc. once i got a good pair of jeans and saw it on display when i was in london.
nice stuff! stuff that I like
there are alot of stores in Asia that I wish would open here in Honolulu…like Zara, Dorothy Perkins, Rest & Relax, MNG by Mango, etc…as I missing not being able to dress up as a girlie girl. I have way too many jeans! But then again I have too much clothes anywaes…must-learn-to-mix-and-match my clothes better (haha!)
yeah…I shop too much
Yuri, thanks for the chat and apologies for not meeting you at “Reindeer” Christmas place in TST last Xmas. Ya see I didn’t know you were coming and how would I know? Sana you sent me an email anoh? As for ‘my-H&M-shirt-is-made-in-Bangladesh’, how true? I think it’s the same as the Armani Exchange, most of them are Made in China anyways. If you buy an original Nike shoes in HK, they are all Made in China now. Ok lang yan.
C, not sure with Madonna. A friend who recently browsed the shop said, she can’t find her size cuz you know why, Madonna thinks every girl is as sexier as her, sadly my friend is not. The kids clothes are trendier than the adults but girls loves the clothes because its affordable yet stylish. I’m not sure with the men’s. I haven’t seen one that I like yet.
hehe. tingnan mo, pumunta ka naman kahit malayo for you.
I agree with Yuri. I saw it too here. The tags on the shirts or dresses show that they are made in bangladesh.
nice! i love H&M!!! cool, si madonna pala ang endorser nya huh..
another place to visit in HK… when will i go there again… sigh.
Central MTR station is covered by Madonna ads!
It’s like a Madonna MTR station!
Hehehe Vina, di naman malayo, kaso malayo sya mga major shops. Kung si Armani, katabi ni Gucci, si Prada katabi ni Celine parang ganun.
Chase, believe me, even some of the GAP shirts here are made in the Philippines and people still buys it but I think in the H&M case, this explains here.
Hi Diane, yup she’s the Material Girl herself. She made nice designs afterall. Not bad.
Range, I like these ads in MTR’s and even the ones hanging outside right above the sidewalks. Seen the big screen at the footbridge adjacent to the Armani Shop? If you’re walking from the Zebra lines from LV across the Citibank, you should take extra care when it’s on, otherwise you’re dead.
i had friends who went to hk specifically for the opening of h&m and they were so disappointed because of the super long queue. e since sosyalera ang mga lolah ko, they didn’t want to camp outside the store like some of the locals did. hopefully kung matuloy yung opening sa ibang locations ng hk baka it’ll be easier on the shoppers.
i like h&m, too. pero wala dito sa city ko niyan, so its one of my stops whenever i go to CA or NY. walang pila
[...] finally ended. Once you set foot at the shop, it’s as if gives you the feeling of entering Madonna’s personal wardrobe. Everything on the Mannequin display would simply look like the Pop singer herself. And you wonder, [...]
I use H&M all the time. Cool they are expanding..
