My new iPod shuffle
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
True, good things comes in all small packages. And this new iPod shuffle is probably the most smallest digital music player and you can wear it like a badge of a ‘musical devotion’. Whatever that is, iPod totally rocks!
That’s right, it now comes in a choice of pink, green, blue, orange and silver. Isn’t that look trendy? Although I already have my first iPod 2 years ago, truth is, when I had it first, I must admit, I already fell in love with Apple. I bought this shuffle for HK$620 out of my Lai-Sees. Shuffle can play a practical role especially for those who have a little trouble getting the cubic size of an iPod out from your bag. If you hate the new colors, the tiny 1GB player is still available in its original silver color, too. It’s like the Nano version which then cut into three pieces of garment.
It holds a lot of music around 240 songs for 1GB capacity including a small dock which you can plug directly into your Mac or PC’s USB port, and voila, you got the song in just minutes. The coolest thing is that it’s very tiny, it’s very light that measures 1.62 x 1.07 x 0.41 inches and weighs 0.55 ounces and you can count on it to keep on rocking for up to 12 continuous hours. Nice, huh? No matter where you clip it, you’ll enjoy listening to it. And sure, it really does turn someone heads. So, I’m showing it off.
I asked, how the hell would I know if the battery is already fully charged? Never fear, the battery indicator light has three features levels — green (full), amber (low), and red (empty).
Although they actually look like it’s made for women’s jackets since they cross over the opposite way but I think the new colors make it something of an accessorized-looking mp3 player which you can use practically while you jog without carrying your video iPod and not going to be afraid to break it. It’s small enough that you can just put it in your jeans.
So I got the blue. What do you think? [digg=http://digg.com/apple/My_new_iPod_shuffle/blog]

wow another new toy!!! haha!! so what next?? digi cam???
i like the green one hehe!!!
Hahaha Vince, nothing special with that. Actually last couple of years, I bought a Canon digital out of my Lai See as well, and because I only received a few this year, I thought that’s the only gadget I can afford. I love all of the colors but I guess blue color is something “safe” to wear all day.
I woud buy the orange, no doubt, it´s my favorite colour.
Two years ago I bought my boyfriend an Ipod mini, pink, it was write after we came back form our hollydays in Italy and it was the color of the moment there, everybody was wearing pink. Last Christmas he gave me a nano, blue very beautifull, but If there was an orange nano I would had change it.
A pink? I think that was the color for men around here last summer too. People wear pink polo shirts. Remember that pink ribbon? It was easily identifed for promoting the “Breast Cancer Day” as well as for iPod, these colors are now branding these gadgets a “must have” and people would know it.
Oh yeah, they’re pretty cute. I saw my friend have one but then I thought “what a loser” because I can never find a good range of colours in Australia. He was stuck with silver.
Cute, but too small for me. Small as in not enough storage capacity. Right now, I have a old 40GB model from a few years ago and not all of my songs fit on it, you never know what you want to listen to, eh? (Boards Of Canada - Geogaddi)
I will probably get a new iPod this year, when the new gen comes out, most prob in Sept is my guess, or something like that, once the iPhone has been released in the USA and Canada.
Weng, hehehehe not really. I mean the colors branding is to identify the tiny machine as a Shuffle iPod against other mp3 players. But silver or the white remains a classic.
Me too range, at first I thought it’s really small. No screen to see what’s playing on but you see I also have the 40GB white face stainless back iPod but it’s heavy for me. I am somewhat “ashamed” taking it out from my bag just to shuffle to the next music, it’s looks so last mellinium but really, walking from my flat to work, this new shuffle is my latest companion.
even though i made the switch to a macbook, i still haven’t caught the iPod fever.
i’ve been an iriver fan for years now.
but it is cute
cutie pie!!!
Cool! Blue is pretty. Yeah, and what’s next K? Tsk…
OHHHHHHHHHHHH dios mio, right not write. Glubs
Hi Peter, call me a gadget-freak. I’m always fascinated with the “what’s new in HK” well not because everyone’s have it, meaning they are good. But it’s just me. Many people around here finds listening to their cellphone as they mp3 player quite a practical choice. Once the iPhone arrives early next year, people might switch to that.
Grace, just as you know, if you mean cute you’re referring to “me”, din’t you?
Asha, what next on my list? A sex-toy maybe? LOL just kidding.
Inthesity Hahaha que pas? Don’t worry I understood what you said.
ang kyut ng bagong shuffle nu? kasali yan sa wish list ko e. sana nga makabili ako. mahal dito sa pilipinas 4600php (1g) isa.
Wind, wag ka namang mag-pa guilty. For me, mahal talaga (in Peso) pero binili ko naman yun dahil sa Lai-See (Chinese New year’s money) kaya ok lang siguro. Bahala ng magutom, ika nga. Hahaha.
I love mine (got the orange — which looks more like copper) — especially for when hitting the gym. I clip it to the hem of my shirt and don’t ever have to worry about it coming off. Best thing is 240 songs is more than enough for what I use my shuffle for — no way I’d ever be in the gym long enough to hear even half of the songs I’ve loaded on it! Enjoy.
oh wow, that looks really hip! i would have chosen blue, too
Hi Gigi, you’re right, 240 songs is more than enough for me as well. I wear them when I walk to go & from work, say like 15minutes everyday so there’s no point of having a stack of thousands of songs in an mp3 player. Although because they are very tiny, the choice of colors can help you locate them incase you misplaced it.
Vina, absolutely!
Each time I pass a store selling these cute little things, I stop and gawk for a looong time but I didn’t buy until now because I can’t decide which color is the best. I was almost decided on green but then I saw Gigi’s orange piece and now your blue one, hmmm …. I just might never be able to buy one if I keep on changing my mind.

Thanks for the music, K! I got here a long time ago via Gigi’s blog. Really good stuff around here.
K: I guess I understand, but I don’t really mind taking it out of my pockets. I like it for now, but when the widescreen iPods come out, I will change, most probably. Maybe they will have 120, 160 and 200 GB models, I would go for the biggest one available.
Sweeet! I’m envious. Hehe
Bugsy, buy it while it’s hot. But just like you, I’d normally go-check-see and decide later if I want something. I always caught myself thinking “why do I need this for” but end of the day I’d say, “I should have bought it”. Thanks for the visit btw. Glad you like the music.
Range, can’t wait for the iPhone. Perhaps that will change everything but who knows, I heard it will be expensive. You mean there’s a new iPod widescreen coming again?
Jaypee, tiny little toy that makes my lonely little life a bit interesting.
[...] got this meme from Gigi and I actually found it fun. It’s a simple tag questionnaire using an iPod shuffle that allows random shuffling among all the music stored in your player. You can do this on your [...]
I have the same shuffle. I pre-ordered mine before October when it first came out. Perfect for my day at the beach or at the gym. Almost unnoticeable.
[...] using it, just you know it’s heavy - nevertheless I’d always be an Apple fan. How about my not-so-old iPod shuffle? I actually gave it to my brother when I visited Bicol. I suspect, it was my over-generosity that I [...]
