2007 Resolutions

A New Year’s resolution? What it is to you? I would still wish to HAVING A LAUGH - to enjoy life and consider to adopt a lower pace and begin enjoying myself whenever I am or whatever I may be doing. Better yet, I will reinvent myself, redrafts plans several times if there is or perhaps to completely revolutionize my life and keep my options open.

I have no trouble keeping resolutions. Well, at least I recycle them every year. In the past, I’ve successfully reused them as it always has been the same thing. Some of it works, most of the time, missed. This year, it’s going to be big - hoping I’ll finally be able to accomplish this one, that is to QUIT SMOKING. I will now have to take some of your advices really really seriously to quit the habit.

Here’s a quick review from last year:

To be more productive. I realized I am on the same track of the game called life and am left wondering how many more opportunities I have left. My plan was simple. Work and save. And spend a little wisely then beg for another year to save. But even before I knew it, no matter what happens, no matter what I do, I wish everything would turn out just fine. I believed it’s not too late.

To stay healthier. You know the aroma of coffee are really good, its our sense of smell that makes me want to just flip the cigarette cover but *big pause* really, I’ve been thinking a lot of things to myself as a non-smoker. It’s keeping me to concentrate on things I don’t like about smoking, like dirty ashtrays, stinky odours, nasty cough - I really didn’t actually enjoy that much at all. I know that I’m not depriving myself to this but I’m setting myself free!

To live life to the fullest. I stick up for what I believe is right. It’s not hard to say, “I’m sorry” when you’re wrong and “You’re forgiven” when you’re hurt by someone else. You see, I still wonder a lot. But mostly I wonder why it is so beautiful to live, to eat macaroni and cheese and see a broccoli that can really hide in milk.

To stop worrying on something. Because life is huge, it’s filled with infinite variety of things and life experiences.

To make plans. I really need a lifestyle change considering new job bring changes, whether they be changes in schedule, location or income, I really don’t mind. But how do you think it will take to find a new job? How much notice do I need to give my current employer? I don’t know how long can I afford to be unemployed while looking for a new job but I should really get to work it out to fulfill these plans.

To save & spend wisely.
First, I have to find out in advance how much money I have to spend and for how long I have to budget it. Ideally, I usually record my spending at the time I spend it, it seems like a pain, but this is how to find out my spending patterns before setting up my budget. I seem to be a person who makes more withdrawals than putting a lot of deposits to my account. It’s just hard.

And have fun singing. I seem to have made a whole career on karaoke singing without someone listening except myself. Back in the province, when my younger brother’s band practice their songs before a gig, I’d normally grab the microphone and do my lypsinc performance then they’ll go away.

So write off your own New Year’s resolution and promise yourself to abide by it throughout the upcoming year - no ifs, ands, or… well… no ifs or ands.

HIGH FIVES: To Gigi for the nice CD’mas card - that made me miss my family a lot, Consuela & Ryan for the lovely card (nice chirography there, btw), Grace for the personalized family Xmas Greetings picture, what a happy family - look at those cute braces, Treena & Robin my offline friends in Oz, congratulations for the coming of a new baby - excited here to see you wearing a dress in that prutruding belly, Cheh for the nice winterish postcard - your LOL made me smile, Randall & Tet family of Canada, my HS batchmate, oh dear, you’re such a nice looking Mom now, to Duke & Vince for the virtual cards and of course to the rest of my blog friends who left their nice ‘Xmas Greetings’ comments in this blog, I’m so dearly touched by all your thoughtfullness. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!

I think an external change (i.e. change of job) can be a jumping board for that general lifestyle change you want. (nang-iimpluensya ba! haha) Depending on your contract, dapat one month notice is enough.

Good luck for this year!!! We all need a change every so often!! And soon, gusto ko na umalis ng HK!!!!!!!!!! =p Happy New Year ulit!

Hi Rhea, Happy New Year to you. And thank you for being a nice blog-friend all this year. Matagal tagal na rin tayong mag ka blog. I’m just hoping here for the best. Thanks again.

Asphaire, I feel that I’m stucked here (in my job & HK). I’ve been thinking to leave the company like few years ago di ko pa rin magawa. Not that I hate my job kaso living here in HK is sooooo expensive, much harder enough if you live alone. I want to look for something that can pay my rent. Ako din, I wanna go somewhere else pero HK, love it or hate it - uncertain pa din ako.

Well I like singing, but people always tell me to shut up. Just because I’m happy.

thomas and i started our long overdue diet today … and hopefully our determination sustains us until we reach our golden weight goal …

cheers! may all our resolutions come true!

PS: di talaga pinatawad ang braces ko oh! hahahahahahahhahahahahaha!

PS2: i’ll “really really try” to post something “new” in my blog within the week … :)

Hahaha Wengistein, I can’t argue with that. The thing is, I just like singing - I am a happy person too so if you want to listen to my screeching voice, click here.

Grace, that’s a good resolutions. It may not be as easy as you can imagine pero it’s achievable. Cge, let’s go out, I feel like eating a McBurger with super large coke - and no ice please. As for your blog - YOU NEED TO START blogging again. Try the free wordpress, it’s easy and manageable (insultuhin ba daw ang blogspot?)

We were stuck in Hsinchu Taiwan as well for the holidays. It has been a bit stressful over the last few weeks, but we are confidently ready to move to Taipei in the next few months. Jobs are getting secured and we will be a lot happier in a bigger city.

2007-01-03 15:56:36

as much as i would like to transfer residency (from blogspot to wordpress) i’m super tamad to do it since i know it’ll take one whole day for me or worse yet a week! but i’ll move soon enough …

lika punta tayo Mcdo! bwahahahahahhahah!

2007-01-03 18:45:46

Hi Sir Range, I hope your moving to the bigger city will bring you more excitement. Is it a promotion? I’m glad you guys oh-k despite the earthquake.

No problem Grace, is just that I miss your posts. Kahit si Isay busy din but doesn’t mean you are absent on the internet, eh lagi ka naman dito that’s good enough. I tell you what, I love cheap foods, McDo is great at di na kailangan magpabook. I’ll pick Fillet-o-fish burger please.

Happy new year to every one, an to you K. I never ever did any kind of New Years resolutions, I just keep going and try to do well. Good luck whith your quit smoking adventure, is not that difficult, I did it more than 10 years ago, and I succed just because I didn´t thought it was a big problem or an imposible task. As we say in spain Quitale hierro, I dont hav a translation.

2007-01-04 01:57:50

hey K, u are most welcome. all the best for your resolution this year, really hope u can quit smoking!! I give u all my support!!

2007-01-04 05:00:00

inthesity, Quitale hierro to you too, whatever that is, I know it’s all good. I’ll follow your advice on my “quit smoking” goal. I think I can do it, it’s been 4 days now.

Vince, I will, I will. The smoking ban is giving everyone a tough challenge. All areas in HK is going to be smoke-free. If they catch you, the fine is as thick and shameful as HK$5000.00. It’s a threat, so I’m not paying that amount.

2007-01-04 05:11:01

K, I really meant it !lol it will, you’ll see!:)

I’ve quited smoking 4 years ago after more than 5? yrs of being pugon, lol I’ve quited not because I wanted to but because I had to…I gave it up for my non-smoker husband & when I became preggy to my eldest. It was a bit of a struggle really as I enjoyed smoking, it really relaxed, used to calm me down but I now find cigarette smoke really irritating especially the smell!

Goodluck my dear! hanap ka kaya ng non smoker gf? hehe

Cheh “hanap ka kaya ng non smoker gf”.

Parang ayoko ng may nag-na-nag sa akin? So pass muna ako diyan. Hahaha. Literally I enjoy being single, not a nice resolutions but somehow, baka dumating na lang bigla you never know. I will take your advice, seriously.

Asha, thank you for being thoughtful to me all these years. It’s been many years and you still leave comments. I like someone to be a friend who are always consistent. Happy New Year to you as well. Keep on smiling.

K, did you just messed up your Windows? I don’t really understand your last message.

2007-01-05 02:23:08

Hahaha Carol, NO not really. I mean whenever I have a few important programs sometimes I can easily delete them (ok, going into the control panel and entirely delete the program) without even thinking it will cause errors. My windows are working fine now after what had happened sometime ago, remember? I mean, I’m pretty careful now when it comes to “deleting”.
