Shoot from the pocket

The demise of my old digital camera needs a new replacement, that is, when I get my 13 month pay by next year, I’ll buy one. Here’s a survey, tell me what is your personal pick.

CanonCanon Powershot SD 800 IS
US $450 Resolution: 7.1 megapixels Zoom: 3.8x
. There’s a unique function that empowers Face Detection, which finds all the faces in the frame and sets the most suitable focus point, when the shutter button is depressed half-way. So when you take a portrait of your subject, he’ll continue to be in focus even if he’s in motion. Since I am a fan of Canon, I might pick this, it’s still is my favourite. http://www.canonusa.com

KodakKodak Easyshare V705
US $350 Resolution: 7.1 megapixels Zoom: 5x
. The world’s smallest ultra-wide-angle zoom digital camera. So it’s easy to hide in the jeans pocket and it uses a second, ultrawide lens to help get all your friends in frame. This is going to work for me since I like slim-thin-and-sleek. http://www.kodak.com

FujifilmFujifilm FinePix F30
US $400 Resolution: 6.3 megapixels Zoom: 3x
. It can give sharp images, even at night-time, or with fast-moving subjects. And when you do use a flash, the camera knows when to tone it down; you’ll get fewer ghostly faces in your shots. Usually it’s just another digital camera that I can only dream about. http://www.fujifilmusa.com

CasioCasio Exilim EX-Z1000
US $350 Resolution: 10.1 megapixels Zoom: 3x
. Super Bright LCD display which is over two times brighter than the industry average. The 10.1 megapixels allows you to edit details, make enlargements and print high-quality images without going to a photo lab. It makes your shots more spectacular; to make your children more, ugh, childrenly, and for taking glamour shots of all your meals. This sound promising because I love a bright LCD display but a Casio brand reminds me of a calculator, so think again. http://www.exilim.casio.com

Trust me.. it’s either Canon or Nikon.. but then again, Canon is the best, at least to me.

if those are your choices, i’m very partial to canon. i’m going to get a digicam, too. nag-retire na yung old one ko (which, ironically, is a canon). but i’m getting a sony naman, mostly because my laptop is sony also. :)

the canon cam looks great. I want one too. I have a Sony digicam and it’s not that handy since mine’s from 2004 pa.

I’d go for the Canon or the Kodak.

Canon!!! =D (You shouldn’t trust my opinion though because I’ve always been partial to Canon digital cameras although I’ve heard good reviews about the Kodak one - good enough to make me consider it if I was camera shopping. Thankfully, I’m not hehe)

Thanks ‘very one - I have now decided. CANON, won! I’m gonna get that next year, hopefully after my birthday. After - because it’s the pay day. Who knows, if there’s a latest Canon coming out, there’s much needed time to think about, right?

Sir Jep, no worries. I hope my little “words” cheers you up a bit. TC.

good choice! canon photos are the best i’ve seen so far. the reason why i didn’t buy canon before was because i had to take out the battery and charge it separate from the camera. i hated the inconvenience of not being able to do anything with the camera while i’m charging. but i guess they should’ve fixed that by now :)

Dez, I think it’s irritatingly designed by camera manufacturers so that we would purchase a recharger kits and most of all as the battery is used up pretty fast, we invest more extra batteries. And what’s more annoying? Some old cameras can accept any type of batteries whereas most digital cameras recommends only the specific requirements. Technology is very much affecting our society profoundly.

Vince, I will definately stick to that. I’m eye-ing for a few other cameras but once I have the budget, why not?
