Like aaalll the fooking time. The weekend always feels like a completely different kind of time. Why does it have to rain during the weekend not during the week when we are at work? It pisses me off. You know, I never listened to this weather girl anymore, everytime the “HERE COMES FREDDIE” cartoon would tell me “aaahh sunny today”, it never happens.
It’s like when you’re walking through the streets without an umbrella, suddenly it pounded with rain and after about five minutes, with the same abruptness with which it began, the rain will stop. This seems to be happening every once an hour. What makes me annoy is that when the weather in Hong Kong is under the constant cover of clouds, you have little warning when the rain will come. There is no transitional sprinkler or light showers; it either pours or it doesn’t. I hate umbrellas.
When I was younger my grandmother told me that when it rained, all the angels up in heaven were having a washing day - pouring their water over the clouds. I still think that it is really nice to picture rain but now that I have grown, rain is making me feel like crap. It angers me so. There’s nothing that makes me more upset than rain. And for that I hate the thunder and lightnings too, it’s monsterous and simply unexciting.
It’s the same reason why I’m getting so old fashion these days writing some pointless self-indulged posts. But on the good side though, rain just made me feeling hungry for a hot bowl of soup.
Hope you all have a nice weather weekend.

We should be expecting rain out here in a few months. Not too excited about it. It is, though, a good excuse for me to stay home and enjoy a nice, hearty home-cooked meal, and a glass of red wine.
I used to love the rain, it would bring a nice break to a hot and sticky summer but its keeping me insane like the more you contemplate on something for a weekend, it spoils the fun.
Does it ocassionally rain in your area?
It always rained here in ‘Pinas, it’s always raining here. I can’t even go outside and shop or buy some groceries. Oh, you hate umbrellas? Me too! Because whenever the hard rain pours, my umbrella would bend and break, or it will reverse making a palanggana, hence, when I got home, I’m always wet. Besides, most umbrellas that my mom bought for me wouldn’t even last for up to 2 months, I always break umbrellas.
These rainy days, I’m always sleepy. It’s cold! And I always think of eating a nice serving of steamed rice coupled with tuyo and a dip of vinegar.
I like tropical rain, in Bicol I adore the rain before the sun comes out in the early mornings. It’s as if singing above the roof and gives you the feeling of serenity then you celebrate the day entirely indoor eating “bicol express” and “laing”.
“rain, rain, go away. come again anothe day. little , K wants to play!”
kidding aside, it is the rainy season over there. just put on a nice chillax CD and relax over a bowl of hot soba noodles.
p.s.
I’m no umbrella fan either
I hate rainy season in HK, carrying an umbrella in such a densed place is crazy. You know I can’t tolerate people who carry their umbrellas even if the rain is just a tiny splat esp when you’re in a Tramcar, someone couldn’t even care less if they poke you in the eye.
You should see how fashionable people are when it’s raining here, the use of Burberry brown checkered color and Shanghai Tang’s umbrellas, can be very intimidating.
i suuuuuper love the rain!!! unlike you it makes me feel happy … not the stormy kinda rain pero yung tamang pag-romantic scenes lang sa movie … heheheheheheh … and what a coincidence, just now it starts to drizzle
PS: TENK U FOR THE POSTCARD!!! now i can envision you doing your walks amidst the towers of HK!!! hugs!!!
I’m sure the 7-11 can make profit out of the rain. It sells like hotcakes all around this city. No not the thunderous, scary, black kind of rain. There’s no appetite in that right?
Hey you got the postcard? hahaha you’re welcome. I got yours too. Yup, that’s basically where I stroll with my iPod on, the IFC building is currently the tallest one in here.
Shut the windows before the rain water leaks in it.
I love the rain.It calms me and relaxes me.And like Grace,it makes me happy.
But the cockroaches hates rains.
Can I shoo the rain over to your place, Carol? Well rain without the wind can be nice, I thought it was the coolest thing but sorry, I just don’t feel like going out with it.
baket ako walang post card???!!!! waaaaahhhh!
I think Turkey is the other side of the Continent, so the postcard takes a little longer to travel into your area. Look, Grace and JV got theirs, so check on the mailbox on Monday maybe.
Hmm..Ok.Push it over here.Let it rain!
I need a stamp tho. Hahahaa.
On the other side of the world, it’s raining too. It has been raining here for most of the weekend. I hate getting wet when I am walking the dog, though I do like the rain when I am wearing rain resistant clothes. I hate having wet socks.
[...] This Crock trend was probably caused by the recent weather, it becomes the hottest footwear of the rainy-summer. Well summer ends in a few more weeks but even so, these crocs are simply making it one of this summer’s must-have shoes, you know Hong Kong people doesn’t care less on what clothes or shoes they’re wearing, rain or shine, if it’s the trend, one must look stylish just to be seen. [...]
And I hate having umbrellas going to work. Yes I do walk, it’s just 5mins away.
sometimes i feel the world is playing a very big cosmic joke on us K…
its going to rain again this weekend. i can see the dark clouds hovering around this afternoon.
No way, G! I am planning to visit the Ocean Park with the kids this Sunday, I hope it won’t deteriorate, bwisit kapag day off ko umuulan.
[...] the weather is not cooperating on my days off, I’d normally just dilly-dally in my loft, listening to some Filipino love [...]
