I believe if you are moving to another place, you will first need to notify the important people on your little address book by either calling them or sending a nice email about the change of your address. But opening our e-mail nowadays can be a very lazy thing to do, right? How many of us receives legit email from friends? A few. You’re a very lucky person if your inbox doesn’t include spams, or forwarded jokes, a prayer message that says “Your life will change in minutes if you forward this email to any ten or as many friends as you have. It works”. Such a crap. Why not change the way internet changed us for a little while?
No. I’m not moving or going away. When I sit back and think about the advantages of being a regular blogger, one of the main things that comes to mind is the abundance of friends. Although sometimes having too much friends can be an issue if we are not having the resources or time to please those we care for, it’s when they decide that if they have no time for each other, the caring stops. Well for future reference, pick your friends well - you never know when your friendly effort suddenly becomes unfriendly. Imagine for a moment the response you would have if a friend suddenly ended all communication and decided that your time spent with them just didn’t cut it; you failed to fulfill the contract that you never knew existed.
What I’m saying is, I have this idea of simply going through the process of sending everyone in my blogroll (and those who are not, still welcome) a postcard from Hong Kong. I guess this is an excellent way to get your attention by using a snail-mail to notify all of you my personal THANK YOU. Who doesn’t love recieving a postcard in the mail? Who doesn’t like to receive at least a few kind, funny messages with your own chirography at the back of the postcard?
Postcards are inexpensive anyway so I’m here to pay you off a nice favor. This may sound dramatic but it really helps people staying in touch with each other. You know why? Remember the time we write letters to our penpals? It makes us want to look at our mailbox to see if the person sent you an answer. Who knows, if you, one day, decides to visit me in Hong Kong, I would be delighted to welcoming you in the city or even treating you to the nearest McDonalds.
My friends, I love receiving postcards in the mail and I love sending postcards in the mail. All you need to do is to e-mail me your details, your Blog name (or your real name) & complete postal address. Promise, I will keep it strictly by myself.
Just tell me if this play-mail is a good idea - if not, then I will be happy to hear your honest opinion. It is a tough world we live in. Hopefully, Postcards will bring a smile to our hearts.
Postscript: Duke & Grace, it’s been weeks that I hadn’t check my e-mails but now that I have your addresses, Hong Kong is coming in your own mailbox anytime soon. As for Dicey & Gerwin, I can still send you one if that’s ok.

guess what, just yesterday we sent a whooping 35 postcards to all our friends
and with that said hope i’d be able to give you a smile this coming days 
35 Postcards? I want to achieve that goal, to send at least more than 20 for my old friends. Some of them still have no idea where I’ve been all these years (16 years to be exact).

I got the idea from you and Sha really. I used to be a fan of the e-cards, inexpensive but I’d prefer the postcards coming the place you live.
I did remember when someone was sending nice notes thru email, I would keep them in a special “box” and click them once in a while, but one thing though, that the note I personalized with my hand written on a card is more than exciting. Thanks for sending me the nice Antalya postcard.

Hello dear K! I usually prefer the virtual world since I am such a lazy bastard when it comes to writing in snail mail. But i like the idea and if I have time and everything I would do the same so I guess we should exchange addresses!

Aiieee! Sending postcards! I like your idea K! It’s been a long time since I haven’t send postcards. I think it has been already 8 years, if my memory serves me right. Sending postcards would be an excellent idea, that would brighten someone’s day and bring a smile to their hearts and faces.:grin:

When it comes to life, “Less is More”. When I was younger, I had more friends because… *fill in the _ * I feel that sometimes I have more friends whenever I go home and bring them something. I got tired of that. I have friendships from my life before, friends who have hung on through it all, who email me every day, call me on the phone, visit me, I visit them- etc.
I have work buddies, but I dare say that none are actually my “friend”- we’re just friends toward one another at work, which is I think just good, but once the day is done, we go our separate ways. It’s just the way of the world, I believe.
Hey, K, looks like the postcard sending thing might have to wait a few weeks. I just sold my condo and I am moving out in 3 weeks. I’m probably staying in Montreal until October then moving to BC.

Thanks Menta, the idea of sending the postcard is not actually to show off. I do sometimes buy postcards as a souvenir, but I don’t really send them.
I can never quite fit what I want to say on the small space for writing, so I prefer letters. But not anymore. I know sending postcard is a bit old but sometimes it’s nice to get from someone just to surprise you. I want to have a postcards which have the pictures on like, Sydney Harbour.
