Have you ever recorded yourself singing? And how did you capture it? Well, it was a very lazy afternoon, the heat was killing me and I got nothing else to do but just wandering in my unit entirely the whole day looking for my web-microphone but failed.

What to do?

I turned on my amp speaker up so loud - like the whole floor in my building would collapse any minute from the very loud bass. I couldn’t care less if the neighbours would knock on my door and give me their WTF face. So what? I caught them doing some repair in the middle of the night few many times before but I didn’t complaint. In other words, I’d let them listen. It was finally my turn anyway.

Incidentally, when Eric Benet’s song The Last Time started to play on my rotation, I immediately turned my Audacity Recorder on and done my sing-a-long with his backing vocals using my laptop’s handsfree microphone.

For some strange reason, I sing this song all the time, in the toilet, in my locker, to my cellphone. This is my kind of song that never ends, yes it goes on and on. I started singing it, not knowing I was already attached to the song, and I’ll continue singing it forever just because I seem to have made a whole career on karaoke singing without someone listening except myself. Back in the province, when my younger brother’s band practice their songs before a gig, I’d normally grab the microphone and do my lypsinc performance then they’ll go away.

Now that I’ve added embarrassment to myself, tell me if I’m hurting your ears like a noise of a running finger nails down a blackboard. It’s a very threatening voice that I’m sure most of you would say, “so pathetic”. Ok my singing stunk after listening to it and I thought it was the most self-pitying, indulgent, misearable voice I’ve ever come across. Well, think of all the kids who listened to their parents singing it, I’d say it can break a freaking lightbulb instantly like most people would think a bad voice is like a baby screaming so I suggest you turn your speakers off now and call it a day. And guess what, it didn’t actually rain.

Hurry! Click on my picture and Enjoy - - or rather LAUGH!

    HAHAHAH C, I won’t! Promise.

But even so, I think I’m too old for the American Idol, don’t you think?. Paula Abdul would not even give me those tapping-hands-on-the-table response nor Randy wil give me his ‘Yo, that was totally off key performance’ feedback.
    Finger’s crossed.

No shit Mick? That’s not strange at all, consider that a joyfull chorus. Remember that the Lord want us to sing our hearts out loud joyfully. HAHAHAH.

I think it’s cool to mess up around sometimes and hear yourself totally out of tune. It’s the real thing.

Haha, that was cool K. Two days ago, I did a video… I was talking.. and singing.. and making faces.. it was fun I tell ya. Oh, but i was singing Hi5 children’s song… I’m so darn good at it! :P
And I did many videos.. hehe, Narcissist I am.

Keep singing…. and have loads of fun!

For the record, thanks God for my backing vocals hahaha it saved the day. Nah I was just messing up with you people. Past times involved singing as well so I did it with all my guts - yikes!

But it’s so normal to sing out loud, record your voice, listen or video-cam and deal with it. Besides that’s what a video camera is for right?

Wait a minute, did I just saw you online on cam?

Hehehe Dice I know you were laughing - I used to sing at online rooms before, just practicing really. Just in case we stumble at each other somewhere in Pacific Place, laugh hard infront of me, will you?

Ay! Ba’t ganun? Knoiz ayaw mag play…do I need a special player for this? Atat pa naman akong marinig :D

  10. Wavatar K on 27.07.2006 at 21:28 Post reply

Baka nag over-excited ka Ate. No special player needed, just click on it and if there’s a “pop-up” message, just open it and don’t “save”. The track loads a bit slower in the beginning. Cge try mo ulet tapos tumawa ka ng malakas ha?

Opps! I was just clicking thru the old wordpress theme with added costumized header to see how it looks - but no, I’m not changing the current theme yet. And no, the reason I used JT’s avatar was because I had a new summer haircut yesterday and thought, teka magkamukha ata kami ni JT? BWAHAHAHA.

Anong PRO? I’m better than the PRO  Wala lang, kunyari kanta-kantahan. Har! har! har!

I’ve recorded myself singing before for a project, actually for the CD that I have out. It was a painful experience. There is no way that I can actually stand my voice and everytime I do, it knocks my ego down a few notches :(
    Max

  22. Wavatar K on 01.08.2006 at 21:56 Post reply

Hahaha Max, at least you tried singing & recorded it (for the CD - how neat).

One time I went out with friends at Karaoke and an English dude went out saying, it’s ok to be off-pitch, bad voice, npt perfect because that’s where the fun starts. If you invite someone who sings professionally then I must say, there’s no fun in it.

But practice makes it perfect - - try harder next time then

Been singing with a group of twins (and my older twin too) since primary school :) The teacher asked us to sing over the entire school P.A :D The whole “band making” thing will happen when I get a keyboard and start practising :P I feel quite an urge to start an electronica/industrial group along the lines of Zeromancer, Goldfrapp and Ali Project :D Saya nak belajar main keyboard, tetapi saya punya savings malas sedikit, alamak, teruknya…

  24. [...] At night, I would usually hear a loud screeching sound of metal gates, a banging of doors & oftentimes, like a scary voices having serious fights next to each other. But I am not complaining because sometime ago, I knew that some people are in bed by 10:30 and I was blaring my music with the bass even if it’s distant, barely audible sound is sure annoying. I do not know whether they could hear me singing The Last Time or maybe they don’t have problems of hearing, or maybe they like loud music themselves, so it doesn’t affect them. But for as long they don’t invade my territory, I’ll remain to keep it that way. Personally, I think any loud noises (music, TV, fights, etc.) are incredibly rude. There was a few incidents that I heard louder crashing of furnitures above my floor, so I start banging my own ceiling with a broom just to get them noticed that someone is already having a nap.
