If I’m in Causeway Bay, I would never missed the G.O.D. or cleverly called the “Goods of Desire” that I just can’t resist. Everytime I’m there, I would typically day dream of my house near the shore, in the porch feeling the sea breeze as I sit through that vintage chair on display with a six digit tag price attached in it, then spend around an hour just to enjoy the place (and even bought a beach short) and yesterday was no exemption.
Although there are few shop around town like the branch located in Tsim Sha Tsui, airy looking and spacious, I’d still prefer the one in Causeway Bay because it’s more of the feel and makes me contemplate on what’s the best next thing on sale. The lower floor has bags with fun prints like the picture of Yau Ma Tei, one of HK’s densest place to live and is also one of the popular icon around here. Prints also available on mousepads, the bags, mugs and even on pillows. And there are others, in black and white Chinese newspaper prints and few colorful florals that will exactly reminds me of the old but beautiful Hong Kong.
One of the popular gifts to buy are the Chinese symbol of luck, double happiness - in candles, magnets, coasters, chopsticks, all in Chinese color red of course. There are plenty of ways that you can actually bring a little luck into your household, or give it for a gift of any kind.
The shop is full of modern versions of everyday household items, from coffee makers to a cool selection of wastebaskets. But what I love here is the variety of everything from furniture, to bedding, and even a small selection of clothing for both men and women is available. I never fail to find something fun in the shop, it’s just full of Goods Of Desire.
Come & visit!

Buddha Bar - Tamtra Tibet

Meet your Maker, G.O.D.!
I don’t know Range after this entry, I got too many weird spams. I think G.O.D. must be very tiltillating.
They let you take pics? I can’t do it in shops here. Not fair!
But I like it. Hmm… someday.. just someday.. i’ll pop by HK. *in my dreams*
NO! Well I was already carrying a G.O.D. paper bag so they probably didn’t care to stop me. Hahaha. Seriously, it was my Nokia phonecam and pretended I was calling someone via Video to Video, no one can really tell. Clever, huh?
The laundry bag I’m using right now is from G.O.D.
I love the stuff there. I often go with my friend to check out their latest designs.
The one in Harbour City is walking distance from my old flat so I seldom go to the Causeway Bay branch.
another nice place to go to is Tequila Kola down in Ap Lei Chau. Actually that building has lots of factory priced furniture items. Not to mention that they have the factory outley of Joyce where you can buy Prodo and other designer stuff for almost 70 percent off.
Aba malimit ka rin sa G.O.D.? I don’t know why masyado akong gala sa mga furniture shops.
Yeah, been there few times, only when it’s on Sales, in Ap Lei Chau. It’s becoming popular for tourists and locals alike - if I only have a house my own I’d buy few stuff from there. The stuff they sell are mostly from Thailand. I wonder if they have these kind of shop in Pinas?
Kaso PANIS, parang mga tapon na ibang items sa Joyce factory shop.
I also love the Buddha Bar Series! The Man Ray and Cafe Del Mar series as well.
I am a listener. It takes me to a greater places wherever I may be at any given time. You can just sit back, relax and enjoy. I’m trying to put them on my sidebar now.
hhahahaha!
I couldn’t buy any stuff from the Joyce Stuff there because theya er either too long or too big for me! Dami din mga furry stuff na tipong galing ng 80’s!lol
oo naman. I always go to furniture shops. I consider going to the supermarket and furniture shops a great therapy! being there makes me feel good
In the Philippines, the closest you can get, I think, is the furniture area in Greenhills. Just near the area where they sell mobile phones. They also have some in Glorietta just near the food court but they tend to be expensive.
Honestly I only go to some expensive & cute furniture shops to look around or simply just pretend I belong there. If I have a luxury house (in my dreams) I’ll probably fill my house everything from Bali.
Isay in Oz is very much into these. Her kitchen is basically bigger than my own flat here.
oooh K! and i thought this post was something serious! ugh you got me there! haha silly me!
Are you kidding me? Although sometimes I post “seriousness”, I’m not a very deep person - I enjoy kababawans all the time.
OUT OF TOPIC:
tito k! guess what?! Thomas bought me the ipod video! sabi ko na nga ba at di rin mapipigil ang mokong eh! now i’m super super pressured to “explore” it!
by the way … since made in China obviously i have to change the current language! eh dont know how to read characters so we asked our Chinese chef to change it for me! bwahahahahhahahahahah!
Pansin ko lang lagi kang OFF-topic these days Madam Gracie (cut and paste pa ang comments from Duke’s).
Now considered yourself an Ipodder. I’m sure you’ll forget blogging for a while - you’ll be very busy downloading music and singing aloud for everyone to hear when you’re on your iPod.
Try mong ibagsak at kung hindi mabasag, genuine yan.
looks like an interesting store
Quite a place to kill the time, C. It’s so convenient around here, shops are just everywhere side by side, you don’t need to worry to drive your car.
hi K, G.O.D. in Causeway Bay - reminds me so much of the group. Sunday lunch at the G.O.D. resto and almost half day of merely going around the shop…hay naku!
I have a few things bought from there. I wouldn’t mind browsing through the store though as we are currently furnishing the renovated beach house and I have in mind an eclectic interior pisces. Mind you last week we had to go through seven shops just looking at dining tables!!!
good for you - go and window shop! and great photos of the shop
Hahaha Isay I can still remember - Home Cooking restaurant is still there. I exactly thought of you while browsing in there. Sometimes I would bring my nephews for brunch, it’s very cozy and I like their pasta. That area is so high-end na - the malls are expanding, there are too many food bars na rin kaso nawala na yung Pepperonis nearby pero andun pa rin sa kanto yung Starbucks.
I can totally imagine your spending on furnitures. Well Geoff too enjoys them. I’ve chatted with Treenas the other day because she’s bored and she mentioned it to me tho’. I’m really hoping I can pay you a visit, nag iipon pa until now. I said it five years ago kaso, pang asar kapag SALE dito. Panis!
[...] When I was young (as opposed, I refer to it as now, ok youngish), I have the habit of buying things such as mugs, soup bowls or a set of utensils. Like this one. I usually visit the IKEA to buy kitchen stuff or the G.O.D. just to look on their new furnitures, even if I don’t buy one, the looking makes it more enjoyable. [...]
