It could be

There are periods when we sometimes wonder why we sleep less, spending out of control buying stuff we don’t need, oftentimes irritable and thoughts cramming in our head. Do you ever asked how much of a problem did any of a given situation causes us like being unable to work, or getting into some serious arguments, fights and family problems?

Here are some questions that we, normal people, thinks when we were not on our usual self.

…we felt so good and other people thought we were so hyper that we got into trouble.

…we were so irritable that we shouted at people and started a fight or arguments.

…we feel so much more self-confident than usual.

…we got much less sleep than usual and found we didn’t really miss it.

…we were much more talkative and spoke much faster than usual.

…thoughts racing through our head and we couldn’t slow our mind down.

…we were so easily distracted by things around us that we had trouble concentrating and staying on track.

…we had much more energy than usual.

…we were much more active and did many more things than usual.

…we were much more social or outgoing than usual - for example, we telephoned friends in the middle of the night.

…we were much more interested in sex than usual.

…we did things that were unusual for us and that other people might have thought were excessive, foolish or risky.

…spending money got us and our family into trouble.

Do you think we need a psychiatrist?

Have a great weekend!

wow long time no write ako dito, hehe.

i believe, each one of us has a little “weirdness” inside of us. it’s what makes us unique among our fellow humans. as long as we don’t hurt others or hurt ourselves in the process, we won’t be needing the “couch” as of yet. (or at least i think i don’t. i don’t know about you, though. hehehe! peace!) :D

I know meeya, you’ve been on AWOL the last time I checked your blog pero buti naman you’re doing great. I don’t know if men have PMS but I’ve been like these lately, pero di naman suicidal so I think it’s a normal cycle like an episodes on a TV, may drama, may tawa, you know.

Kaya kailangan ko ng kausap baka bigla akong umakyat sa 50th storey bldg at mag-ala Superman ako. Hapi weekend.

loko lang ;)

Aha I suspect these symptoms are so accurate but I’m sure you can manage since you have a loving husband who pampers you with everything (fill in the blanks). Have a great weekend.

Hmmm I never had these kind of symptoms though.. Hey K.. did you notice that cocoment is having PMS ? I can’t seem to login ..weird

Oh I didn’t notice that Charles. I think the site is down for the reason I am not certain. Jack Yan said that it’s probably the wordpress or the firefox that’s causing this kind of problem. Did you also notice that a https (with an ’s’) occurs when you send your comments through coComment bookmarklet?

Maybe try again, the service must be overflowing.

I don’t think people facing the issues that you mention need a shrink. I guess all that is a part of life that we take in our stride..

Unless you were having all of that all the time. That’s a sign that a diagnosis is required..

“Unless you were having all of that all the time.”

Not all the time though - but you’re right, it’s just a part of life. It is hard to be depressed and sometimes people will say “What are you thinking”? To me this is not a helpful question. If I’m depressed I can’t answer that question. Maybe it is a sign that I am not dealing honestly with myself. I don’t know.

Thanks Joy for the lovely visit.

Nah… K, that’s the aging process. We are “growing”… :P

It could be. Yesterday, when I was in the shower, I figured out why.

But I’m not telling.

Depending on how you are feeling, if you feel the need to talk to someone, you should try one of your close friends before going to see a psychologist. Don’t talk any pills from a psychiatrist. Just talk with a pro. Most of us probably feel better afterward. I haven’t done so. But I know of people who do.

Generally speaking, I find blogging the best stress-reliever. People are incredibly supportive, writing here and there helped me find a bestfriend. I wrote honestly things like personals and people who are connected to me would write back and friendship develops. You guys are my instant “psychiatrist” and I found I could be myself with and this is an incredibly a powerful thing and felt supported. Blogging friends just filled my emotional needs.

Thanks Range.

People work through bouts of depression different ways. Some people like talking about it, some like to be left alone to work it out themselves, and some simply want company through it. You know, your friends are just trying to help when they ask you what’s wrong. However, if they know you well enough, they will learn how to react around you when they see you depressed..

And, men do have PMS like symptoms as in mood changes. I don’t thnk it’s hormonal though ;)

And, men do have PMS like symptoms as in mood changes. I don’t thnk it’s hormonal though.

Males get PMS? But I do know that we are subject to moods and the outside influences everyone of us that make us feel bad. Sometimes diet plays a part in this (maybe I’m sick eating food in our cafeteria) or just stuff that happened that day. I know that I put all kinds of self-importance on my job and how I’m performing. If I feel like I don’t do well, I can get depressed for days.

I think if money disappeared and we stopped obsessing about it, we would all be a lot happier. What would you do if you didn’t have to worry about money?

I would be writing, producing vlogs, managing a web portal of bloggers, publishing books, having podcast and taking a lot of photos and vids. Taking it easy.

I think I’ll expand on this on a later post today. Stay tuned. Happy weekend.

2006-07-15 01:28:12

I would still worry I think. Hahaha, seriously money gives me that big smile. I would normally walk around malls and get around with people. I’d do a little bit of watching them and after awhile of seeing how bad some people have it, (no pund intended) I will then snap out of it. I’m glad blogging makes it fun for me when I’m at home (and a bit in the my working desk).

meeyagirl is right na may weirdness ang bawat isa sa atin. if we need a psychiatrist? nooooh!

ay teka lang K, just want to make something clear doon sa latest entry ko. mukha kasing di mo na click ang thumbnails na nandoon. ngehehehe. pls. go back and click it :)

2006-07-15 09:20:28

Hahaha Ate Beng, thank you for pointing that out, so embarrassing. I was totally fooled by your latest entry about Samsung and Moto. You see, it’s weird that I read tagalog words very badly - perhaps it’s the age thing. I tend to read slower than before.

2006-07-15 09:21:23

i for one K, sure needs a psychiatrist! i mean i’ve been needing to see one for a logn time but i’m still in denial. that somehow i’m still normal! i mean you can see from my blogposts right?! hehe

seriously, ever think about people from ages ago?! they never had such disorders like bipolar, schizo, OCD, paranoia or even manic depression! it’s bec. they were living simple lives and we as modern humans forgot about living simple a long time ago, thus the complicated lives we live including the things around us.

we make our lives complicated K, which makes me wanna go back to the good ole days sometimes. hehe ;)

I don’t see wrong with your blogposts, to me they are expressions of life. I truly believe that depression is somewhat associated with financial loss, someone you love is dying, broken marriage, messed up home life you know those things that comes beyond our control - depression just happens.

I like living a simple life, in my province it’s more simplier than you could ever imagine. When I’m there, I only worry about going to bed as early as 6pm - everything shuts at 7pm, it’s just the way it is. What I mean is, things & places also play a great role in changing our moods.

Probably talking about this is only making it worse but the fact is, talking your feelings in your blog (for yourself, by yourself, from yourself) is like talking to a good friend. People often reply to you that makes you smile and that’s a helpful step and you feel encouraged to let it out.

Well I guess I’m not alone.

2006-07-16 02:29:56

Really? Hahahaha Madam Sachi now you get so curious to what I would reply to you ha? McDo teriyaki was launched a few years back pero di ata nag-click, I didn’t even tasted it.

I always believe that thru blogging, it helps me released tensions and it’s fun when people read what you’re writing. Somehow blogging is an extension of things I do with my life. Glad you passed by.
