The Mirror Project: IKEA Snaps

It’s always fun to hang around at IKEA store. Let’s get this straight, I love everything in IKEA unless of course, if your lamp fused out in few days, you have no choice but to come back in the store to buy that special bulb.
But then, I’m beginning to hate IKEA since the service is quite slow, you can’t even find an extra help from staff if you want to look for a simple corkboard, so you have to patiently find it yourself. Then if you want to buy a bed, it’s another story since there are hidden charges for delivery and for the entire assembly service.
When I moved to a smaller apartment, I thought I had to downsize my stuff, bed is always the first thing in mind. Since I don’t have enough space for bed, I started to read on the catalogue and straightly purchased a loft. Apparently, it took them few thousand times to check on the availability of the product. Again. I had to wait for weeks to get the bed. Somehow, I survived sleeping in a floor with my old folded matress before it was finally delivered. Imagine the pain in the back.
I also bought few other furnitures and it made me completely clueless when you came home and started assembling the simple wooden table and had down to quite a science by the time I got the last leg only to find a missing screw. And all that pre-drilled hole didn’t line up right or something. Like huh, I need to bring it back again to have a replacement. Although I’m satisfied with their return policy, however you have to start looking for the catalogue and the item codes from all the way back to the entrance.
One that annoys me is that, a bed section is where you actually see the exact look for your bedroom and as you start measuring the right size of the bed, you can find kids in uniform flirting at each other over a bunch of pillows as if they behave exactly in a school playground. Again, another couple who left their child in that bunk bed and started to jump from the top who then crashes into another bed screaming out loud for his father only to get a big spanking in the ass because he was left unattended.
If you want to go this shop, refrain from bringing extra luggage (children). I know we’re just being hypocrite so we did the same, of course. We fancied at these beautiful bedroom complete with big mirrors on the wall as we snaps our camera phone so fast before the staff could caught us. It always makes me kinda dream that one day, have my own house with a bed that would look exactly like that. And although I don’t buy any furnitures anymore, still, I’d go back and enjoy a nice and cheap IKEA hotdog.
Afterall, you can just walk around IKEA Bed Avenue before the furniture dies on you.

Baka nalaman na regular costumer ka na nila. O baka naman you made a BIG complaint kaya you were given VIP treatment.
Bilis nga nilang mag assemble. Nakihingi pa nga ako ng yosi sa isa sa kanila and pretended that I understand their lingo. Sabi ko lang M’goi Sai all the time. Bwahaha ka jan.
you know what, K hindi ko din alam bakit free yung delivery. Everytime I order from them laging ganon. one time I just bought a shelf. dinala din nila sa flat and tatlo ang nag assemble! say mo! lol
inisip ko din kung kailangan ko bang pag meryendahin yung mga yun. Kaso alam mo naman over there. sobrang bilis. di pa ako tapos mag isip umalis na sila!
bwahahahahaah
True, Charles. I enjoy working on is to assemble the wooden GORM shelves then paint it as you like. IKEA simply makes your everyday life a little easier, a little more beautiful, and a little better for you. But…. ok I’m giving you something to ponder.
I love IKEA since it’s cheap, modern and chic. What more can you ask for?
Teka, paki lang, how the hell did your get FREE delivery service? That’s not nice, hahaha. I think they have now 5 branches in HK but the one in Causeway Bay is the one I frequent kasi pag labas mo ng IKEA sa taas nun merong Häagen-Dazs, ok diba? hehehe. Right, isang BED, maraming tumutulong minsan na alala ko sa Pinas, you’re thinking baka pag meryendahin mo pa sila ubos agad.
When I was there. Ikea, together with City Super and Great Supermarket were my refuge. I go to the Ikea in Prince Edward.
I’ve always loved going there kasi they always give me free delieveries and assembly. One time they delivered a sofa to my flat with FIVE chinese guys in tow! Naloka ako. Ang dami nila sa loob ng flat ko na nag ayos ng sofa eh ang liit lang naman ng sofa. LOL!
ps… me like those ikea hotdogs too! cheap and yummy!
Tita G, di ka ata nag pasundo? Alam ko you want to surprise me. So then share some photos of Bianca. It’s always good to see you around here. Please don’t go anymore.
psssst … Tito K! dito na ko!
Take it easy Yuri, it can be very tiring to go blogging after a flight. Stay indoor and tune in to your MUSIC loud or just go to bed and snore more till you drool.
just dropping by to say hi K! will be bk soon. just came from a flight. nice pic btw. miss u k! mwah!
Grab ALL you want EAR. I can see you jumping for joy with all those mp3 files. It’s up to you if you think those music are nice, don’t be shy. If you have anything else, I’ll be happy to give you more.
IKEA is a whore. Everyone wants anything from them cuz they offer a year-through lowest prices almost on anything. But then you can only buy those bulbs specially for your table lamps. Yet, there are also decent cabinets and storage combinations which you can’t leave the warehouse without carrying a big BLUE-brand plastic bag.
woohoo…lots of jazz… nice… thank you thank you!!!
OMG…just like my experience with IKEA. did i tell you about this? I bought a study table right? And the table legs..they’re both for the left side ROFL…so i have to go back and get exchanged. That’s the bad thing about IKEA… i bought two stuff and I’ve always gone back to exchange them cause something is missing or something is not right.
They should do something about this. Better inventory and quality control management????
Asha, your wish is granted. I’ve been wanting to add your link for a long time but I’ve patiently waited for the right time. Deal is fixed.
Yup, many MOM’s around here love IKEA. My mother goes there buying kitchen wares and it was me who would pack them for shipping. Now that she’s no longer lives here, I miss the time when all of us would just “point this, point that” for our dream house to be. It’s nice to get an idea of what you want your house would look like.
oh, and one more thing… you can link me up, if you want to
Thanks for having me on your side bar.
Oooo… I love stuff from IKEA. And guess what, my home is 80% furnished with IKEA stuff.. from lightings to sofa sets. Good money and good quality.
It’s friday again.. hehe, I love fridays. Happy weekend K. Have loads of fun!
Oppss, uunga pala, your baby is going kawawa pag hindi mo kasama. Dito kase, it’s turning into a playground, kahit hindi namimili ginawang “bahay” nila ang IKEA esp the bedroom section. Since it’s very congested, tuloy minsan you can’t push your “car” if you’re shopping ultimately with furnitures - but it’s fun, IKEA is a big hit for locals around here, maliliit kase ang mga flats dito kaya functionable ang goods nila.
swerte mo you have an Ikea store nearby, the one nearest me is 3 hours away (in atlanta) *sigh*. and youre right, i couldn’t really savor the whole shopping experience when my daughter is with me. pero walang choice, dahil I would go to jail if i leave her at home, hahaha. kaya tiis na muna sa grab and go
Obviously you haven’t been here for a longest time. You have neglected me, V.
Sure, get all of them. I post mp3’s here and there, once a week, so if you have anything you have in mind, let me know and I’ll kindly do it for you. See, I want to spoil you up a bit.
ohh a template change! actually kinda like it this way…

hmm nice free downloads! lol.. th hmm thinking what to get tho.. hee i just got a new ipod and haaa been busy with picking what to place to a limited 1G! haa well it is still small compared to all that i want! haa.. always excited me.. hehe…
but id be posting about this soon..
I know cheap but sometimes the quality are not good enough. What I enjoy going in there is when I always end up forcing myself to buy a rug. I don’t know what made me do that, maybe I love “being a rug”.
We have an IKEA in Malaysia but since coming here…I totally forgot the whole appeal of IKEA except for last year when we in Disneyland and decided to go visit the store. Their stuff was super cheap and some were very chic looking! With that I wish they would open a store here in Honolulu
yes…those hotdogs are super cheap and good! hehe
