I see it as important for business but also for “mainstreaming”. So I am in the media, occasionally in the society pages, stuff like that. I also do a small weekly TV show. Very few Chinese are on TV here. There is an Asian affairs’ programme, where there are Asian reporters, including Chinese, but in terms of mainstream TV, there’s me, a chick in a soap opera, and that’s about it for domestically produced programmes. If minorities remain invisible, I believe it builds misunderstanding. I almost see it as my duty to be visible. It is kind of nice. I see it as important for business but also for “mainstreaming”.
