The Idols

American Idol 2006

www.americanidol.comApparently, Lisa Tucker, one of the 12 finalists in the American Idol (Season Five) hit show was the latest contestant voted off leaving nine left to fight it out to be crowned the winner on May 24.

Tucker, 16, was bounced from the show after viewers agreed with judges who did not like her version of 2002 Idol winner Kelly Clarkson’s “Because of You”. Judge Simon Cowell called Tucker’s performance “painful” and the song “too big” for her voice.

Her dismissal left nine contestants, as Katharine McPhee and Ace Young, who had the next-lowest vote tallies, survived to sing another week.

idolnotes.comAnd speaking of Katharine McPhee, I have listened to some of her songs and she has an awesome soulful voice. I think she’s going to be my favourite on this year’s Idol. Do you think she’ll survive it on the next elimination week?

Sample songs:
Think - Katharine McPhee
Butterflies - Ace Young
Broken - Chris Daughtry
Heaven - Elliott Yamin
Here’s Where I Stand - Lisa Tucker

The show is doing uphill as compared to the Carrie-Bo fight last year. I think it was the most boring season after Constantine Maroulis voted off.

This week’s Country Theme was boring - song choices were disappointing. Why would anyone pick a song “Take Me Home, Country Roads”? Several of the favorite contestants from previous weeks struggled with the country theme, while some of the less popular contestants gave the better performances of the night.

Well, let’s see.

I haven’t seen AI in the longest time. The last one taht I really watched was the one with Fantasia. A little bit of last year but now nt a single episode …. thansk for the update!

Con & Ash: Oh yeah the new template. I think this is a pretty old theme from wordpress. I’m sick with myself - I do these all the time, playing around uncontented, click-clak this and that, delete this and so there wp.com is spoiling every user with new features, so I kinda feeling “why not” try it. Thanks, glad you like it.

Hahaha the Fat Girl, you’re mean. She’s really big but she’s ok. Remember what Fantasia said, “Ive got a big mouth, but my talent is bigger”. As for that Fat Girl, man SHES HUGE!!

I’m bored with the Judges so to speak - but because of Cowell’s absurdity to other contestants, it becomes the most watchable show. I want William Hung back! ;)

Oops, I forgot to add, I like this layout. Pleasing to the eye. It’s attractive. Nice one K.

Haven’t been following up on American Idol. Of all singers, I could only remember that fat black girl and that katharine… hmmm, I’ll skip a few and then just wait for the semi finals or something… American Idol can be quite boring at times..

The kid in me sometimes. It’s fun watching these teens do their thing up there in the stage. I thought the last season was gonna be fun seeing ‘rock-singers’ contestants together until the show progresses, that country girl became the favourite. I was totally disappointed. At least no more screeching divas as referred to Fantasia.

I can’t tell who’s good this year’s tho’ but McPhee reminds me of Josh Stone & IMO, she’ll make it to the movie industry.

a new template!!! nice…I was digging the old one because it’s black (fav color) but this one is equally nice. good job! :)

I agree with you about last season…hardly watched it after Constantine Maroulis got voted off! Even this season…it conflicts with another TV show which I MUST WATCH…so during commercials, I switch over to Idol :)
Katharine is my favorite too…she’s cute eh? ;P
